Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller has largely remained out of the spotlight since the end of Dance Moms at the turn of the decade. Now, Miller instead has her sights on another reality TV show: RuPaul’s Drag Race.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ has been on the air for over a decade

RuPaul’s Drag Race first premiered in 2009. At the time, reality TV had been popularized by the likes of America’s Next Top Model and the burgeoning Real Housewives franchises.

Dance Moms premiered on Lifetime in 2011. While Drag Race is structured as a competition throughout each season, Dance Moms follows Miller’s dance studio and the lives of her students as they learn routines and enter various dance competitions across the country.

Dance Moms went on to make household names out of the likes of Maddie Ziegler and JoJo Siwa. Drag Race, meanwhile, continues to turn its competitors into stars to this day.

Abby Lee Miller wants to guest judge ‘Drag Race’

Miller was known on Dance Moms for being a no-nonsense dance teacher with little tolerance for BS. Her ability to give criticism would make her a fitting candidate for a guest judge spot on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

For her part, Miller would be thrilled to guest judge an episode of Drag Race. When a fan on Twitter floated the idea, she responded excitedly: “I’d LOVEEE to!!!”

Unlike many guest judges who find themselves behind the table, Miller is a longtime fan of the show, and genuinely appreciates the hard work that the entertainers put into their craft. After the death of beloved Louisiana queen Chi Chi DeVayne in 2020, Miller shared her grief — and her appreciation — on Twitter.

“So much sadness this year,” she said. “I was just reminiscing with a friend about how every single performer to hit the stage on RuPaul’s Drag Race as well as clubs all over the world bring so much light and love to those who need it most.”
