Adam Sandler Gave a $200K Gift to Each ‘Grown Ups’ Co-Star
Adam Sandler may be best known for making bad movies these days, but that’s not a reflection of who he is. Sandler has been a comedian for a long time, and he’s made some great movies.
Plus, he’s also not afraid to take on dramatic roles. For example, one of his most recent films, ‘Uncut Gems’, was a drama film that almost earned him an Oscar.
The real Adam Sandler is actually far more generous than people think, as his co-stars in ‘Grown Ups’ will tell you.

‘Grown Ups’ was one of the most successful films that Sandler has ever made. It had a pretty simple premise though, and it follows five friends as they meet up for the first time in a long time. It just so happens though, that the actors of those five friends are actually friends in real life.
‘Grown Ups’ stars Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, and Rob Schneider as the “grown-ups,” who are anything but.
As expected, this 2010 film received poor reviews from the critics, as it only got a 10% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, fans of the comedians seemed to love it, as the movie made a lot of money at the box office.
With a budget of $80 million, ‘Grown Ups’ made over $270 million and also earned itself a sequel. The sequel, ‘Grown Ups 2’, had a similar story. It was hated by critics, but it still made a lot of money. That said, so far, there hasn’t been a third ‘Grown Ups’ movie yet.
Adam Sandler’s $200,000 gift to his co-stars
As Hollywood Reporter said, Sandler was very happy with the financial success of the movie. He was so happy that he decided to buy each of his four friends and co-stars a brand-new $200,000 Maserati. This was, as Hollywood Reporter said, a “thank you” gift to his friends for helping make the movie as successful as it was.
Top Speed reported that Rock said, “I went outside the other day and I had a new Maserati in the driveway. Now I think that I’m Adam Sandler’s b****.”
Rock was very appreciative of this gift, according to Top Speed, as he confirmed the rumors that Sandler had given each of his co-stars a $200,000 Maserati almost as soon as those rumors came out.
Daily Mail said that Spade was actually embarrassed by the gift he received from Sandler. In fact, Daily Mail said that Spade was so embarrassed by the car that he hasn’t driven it yet. That said, Daily Mail wrote that back in 2010, so it’s possible that Spade has driven his Maserati since then.
On the other hand, Clean Technica reports that Sandler didn’t give Schneider a Maserati. That’s because Schneider wanted an eco-friendly car instead of a gas-guzzling sports car. So, Sandler bought Schneider a Tesla Roadster instead, which is an all-electric sports car. The Roadster was also an expensive gift, though not as expensive as a $200,000 Maserati was.
What Adam Sandler is up to now
Currently, Sandler has a lucrative deal with Netflix, and he continues to make movies for Netflix. However, after Sandler failed to win an Oscar for ‘Uncut Gems’, Sandler may have other plans.
Sandler said that if he didn’t win an Oscar for ‘Uncut Gems’, he’d make a terrible movie on purpose, “just to make you all pay.” Sandler said that jokingly in an interview, so it may just be that, a joke.
But, other Sandler fans aren’t so sure. Sandler has made more bad movies than good movies recently, so it’s entirely possible that he does just what he said he’d do.
