Adele Thinks She Resembles Voldemort When She Skips 1 Beauty Step
Adele is best known as a world-class singer and songwriter, giving the world her emotional ballads and experience-fueled lyrics. After the release of the singer’s latest album, 30, the 33-year-old has decided to team up with YouTube beauty vlogger Nikkie de Jager to show everyone just what goes into her signature makeup look and what she does to keep her beauty routine consistent.
Adele is a highly-acclaimed singer known for her classic beauty looks
Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, better known by her stage name Adele, is an English singer and songwriter. She first broke onto the world stage in 2008 with her debut album, 19. The record’s singles went multi-platinum and won numerous awards, including a Grammy and Brit Award.
Adele followed up her debut album with 21 in 2011, continuing her signature of titling her albums with the age in which she wrote them. This album became the best-selling album of the 21st century, beating out every other album released so far in this century and earning a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Along with the immediate success of her next two albums, 25 and 30, Adele also has the distinction of being one of only a handful of musical artists who have sung the theme song to a James Bond movie. She co-wrote and performed “Skyfall” with producer Paul Epworth. Released in 2012, “Skyfall” was part of the Global James Bond Day celebrations commemorating 50 years since the release of the first James Bond film.
In her personal life, Adele has been married, divorced, and is the mother of a young son — all life circumstances that influence her latest album. She has also had to deal with public scrutiny over her weight for years. More specifically, the media has targeted Adele’s dramatic weight loss, which has led to a healthier lifestyle.
Adele thinks her pale, blonde eyebrows make her look like Voldemort
In an interview with YouTube blogger Nikkie de Jager of NikkieTutorials, Adele claimed that her look just isn’t quite right when she doesn’t dye her eyebrows. “If I don’t dye my eyebrows — these are dyed — then I look like Voldemort. They go so pale and blonde,” she said.
Adele also recounted a time when she didn’t dye her brows and attended a Lady Gaga show. She saw a photo of herself leaving the event. “I looked crazy. I looked like an elfling or something,” she said. “My eyebrows were so blown out from not being dyed. My baby was like 6 months old, I didn’t do anything. I didn’t brush my teeth really.”
Adele learned how to do her signature beauty routine in lockdown
It isn’t just the eyebrows that Adele pays attention to. The singer says that during the coronavirus lockdown, she had to start learning to do her own beauty and makeup, such as dyeing her brows and learning techniques.
“During lockdown, I started to dye my own brows. I used to get them done every week because I really am quite fair. During the pandemic, I did a load of research; I watched YouTube videos, bought all the products from Amazon. I do it once a week on my own now,” she said.
When it comes to learning Adele’s makeup style, de Jager did her signature “Power of Makeup” where she applies the guest’s signature look only to one side of the face, leaving the other side natural. It shows viewers the real impact of these makeup looks.
