Aidan Shaw is Back: John Corbett Spotted on the Set of ‘And Just Like That…’ Season 3
Last week, Sarah Jessica Parker revealed that Aidan Shaw would factor into Carrie Bradshaw’s life in season 3 of And Just Like That…, the reboot of Sex and the City. Last season, fans didn’t see Aidan until halfway through the season. They won’t need to wait as long this time, it seems. Just days after Parker’s revelation, Corbett was spotted on set. Aidan is back; we just aren’t exactly sure in what capacity yet.
Aidan Shaw has returned for season 3 of ‘And Just Like That…’
It is a big day for fans of Aidan Shaw. When season 2 of And Just Like That… ended, no one was certain if they would see Aidan again. After all, in the season finale, he asked Carrie to put the breaks on their relationship for five years while he attended to his youngest son. Five years felt like an eternity, but it seems likely that Aidan’s circumstances have changed.
John Corbett was spotted on the set of And Just Like That… season 3 for the first time since the cast began filming in early May. On May 21, Corbett appeared with Sarah Jessica Parker in Gramercy Park. In one still image, Corbett’s character, Aidan Shaw, seems to be throwing pebbles at Carrie’s apartment window, a clear reference to Carrie’s season 4 “grand gesture” to win Aidan back after she cheated on him with Mr. Big.
Carrie’s Gramercy Park pad will appear in the upcoming season, too
Recent photos from the set of And Just Like That… are giving away little in the way of the season’s storyline. Still, we are getting some important clues about the direction season 3 will take Carrie. Recent photos revealed that Carrie Bradshaw did not hustle back to her Upper East Side studio when things got complicated with Aidan at the end of season 2. Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted filming in the Gramercy Park estate she purchased when she thought she would be living with Aidan, at least part-time.
The fact that Carrie continued with her planned move into a massive home despite her relationship with Aidan being put on ice suggests some significant character development. Carrie always found a way to run back to her beloved studio when she needed comfort. She wasn’t above buying it back at a premium in Sex and the City: The Movie. She quickly went back after the death of John James Preston in the premiere of And Just Like That… and even returned to the cozy walkup when her purchased downtown pad didn’t feel like home. We still need to find out if Carrie will fill her new home with Aidan and his family or just a bunch of shoes. We wouldn’t really be against either option.
