Alan Bersten Doesn’t ‘Mix Business With Pleasure’ on ‘DWTS’ Anymore
Fans have been hoping Dancing With the Stars pro Alan Bersten and former bachelorette Hannah Brown would get together pretty much since the day they were announced to be partners. Throughout their (successful) season of DWTS, they denied dating rumors, reminding fans and publications they’re just friends.
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Bersten said he and Brown ignored all the dating talk so they could focus on the dancing, he says they “shut it all out.”
“We knew people would talk and assume, especially because she was the Bachelorette, and I’m still single,” he told the publication. “So we expected it, but we didn’t really let that get into our heads.”
Alan Bersten is done dating his ‘DWTS’ partners
Bersten knows a thing or two about falling for his DWTS partner. In 2018, he and his partner, model Alexis Ren, were romantically involved. During an episode, Ren spoke about her feelings for Bersten and, later, the two even shared a kiss on-screen. However, after the show ended, the two split up.
“Feelings aren’t black and white and neither is life. We’re focused on our careers and growing as individuals,” Ren said on Instagram back in December 2018. “He’s an amazing person and I’m grateful he came into my life. He’s on his own journey and I respect that.”
Bersten told Us Weekly he’s learned “to not mix business with pleasure” since that time.
Alan Bersten and Hannah Brown are still just friends
Even though their DWTS season’s come to an end, Bersten and Brown are still just friends (despite their friends reportedly telling them they should date).
“We were friends during the season and now that there’s not this huge stress of trying to learn a dance, we remain friends and we enjoy each other’s company,” he told Woman’s Day on January 29. “But I’m on tour right now and she’s going to be coming on tour in a while, so we still talk as much as we can, but yes, we will definitely be friends.”
Prior to the portion of the tour Brown would be participating in, Bersten said he was excited to share the stage with his partner again.
“It is like icing on the cake,” he said. “Being able to go on the journey with Hannah and winning the show with her is something that I could not even dream of, but now that we get to go and perform to the fans that voted for us every week and kind of say thank you to them, it feels so special.”
