The pair originally dated in the early 2000s and were even engaged at a point, but they split just ahead of their wedding. Now, it seems like they’re getting close again, but not everyone is thrilled about it.
Reports allege Alex Rodriguez, specifically, isn’t happy about their reconnection, especially because of how close it comes after his breakup with the pop star.

Lopez and Rodriguez only announced their split in April. The two had been together for more than four years, getting engaged in 2019 and nearly marrying in 2020 before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic forced them to postpone the ceremony. Their relationship would reportedly become strained in the following months, leading to their eventual split.
“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so…” the pair said in a statement shared with E! News. “We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects.”
Just over two weeks later, reports emerged that Lopez had allegedly been seen hanging out with Affleck, whom she dated from 2002 to 2004.
E! News reports that they allegedly even took a weeklong vacation together to Montana in May. “It’s natural between them and the chemistry is unreal,” a source told the outlet. “They picked up where they last left off and are enjoying each other’s company right now.”

After their reported vacation, a source spoke to E! News about how Rodriguez allegedly feels about it all, saying he’s allegedly flabbergasted that she’s seemingly moving on just weeks after they ended their relationship.
“A-Rod is shocked that J.Lo has moved on,” said the source. “He truly thought they would be able to make it work and reconnect. He has been reaching out to J.Lo trying to meet with her and she has been very short with him.”
Showbiz Cheat Sheet reached out to Rodriguez for comment on the report but did not hear back by the time of publication.
It probably is shocking to hear that she’s possibly already moving on, especially with an ex-boyfriend. But it was previously reported that Lopez had periodically stayed in touch with Affleck after their split and that she really did care for him when they were together.
Now that both of them are single again, it seems like they might be trying to see where things could go. “She finally has had the opportunity to spend time with him and see where this could lead,” the E! News source added. “They are very comfortable together and it’s easy. She wants to keep seeing him and is very happy.”
