Alex Rodriguez Launches His Own Makeup Line After Trying Jennifer Lopez’s Beauty Products
Alex Rodriguez‘s name has been in the headlines a lot recently. The former baseball star made news following his breakup with Jennifer Lopez in April and his reaction to reports she’s reunited with Ben Affleck. But now A.Rod’s name is being mentioned for his next business venture which is his own makeup.
Here’s what product Rodriguez is offering and what J.Lo said about the MLB analyst trying her beauty products.
Rodriguez’s makeup product for men
Rodriguez took to social media on May 20 and announced that he had partnered with the beauty and wellness company Hims & Hers to create a concealer line for men.
“Working with the Hims & Hers team, I wanted to create a product that solved an issue I faced every day. I realized as I was jumping from meeting to meeting, I needed something quick and easy in my routine to conceal blemis[es] or razor bumps,” he tweeted.
The former New York Yankees slugger continued: “It’s a convenient concealer specially designed for men that can be used for skin imperfections. Check it out, I think you’ll be surprised how often it comes in handy.”
The Blur Stick, as it’s called, is available in eight different shades and retails for $17.
Lopez also has a beauty line and said A. Rod tried all the products
Most of the reactions to his posts on Twitter and Instagram were positive, however, there were some negative comments from those who did not embrace men wearing makeup.
Men though have actually been wearing makeup for years. For example, just about all of the actors and anchors you see on TV have already normalized it by wearing it during broadcasts. So it’s not surprising that the baseball legend who now works in TV would create such a product.
In an interview with Elle prior to their spit, Lopez revealed that Rodriguez is very into skincare and became a big fan of her line after trying all the products.
“[Alex] tried everything,” she told the outlet about her brand J. Lo Beauty. “He loves it and now we’re always fighting for the mask,” she said, adding. “[The products] are for anybody who has skin, which is everyone.”
Rodriguez’s net worth today
Since retiring from baseball, Rodriguez has continued to add to his impressive net worth via several business ventures.
He became a broadcaster for Fox Sports 1 before joining ESPN as part of the network’s Sunday Night Baseball broadcasting crew in 2018.
In mid-May, Glen Taylor talked about selling the Timberwolves and Lynx to A. Rod and Marc Lore telling WCCO News Talk 830‘s Mike Max: “I talked to [Rodriguez] about the kind of coaches he had, the kind of support that they have in baseball. I think all those experiences that he’s had will be able to relate to basketball.”
Today, Celebrity Net Worth estimates that Rodriguez is worth $350 million.
