Could ‘All My Children’ Vet Cady McClain Be Joining ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’?
The Bold and the Beautiful has long had a rotating cast of characters. And, as fans of the soap opera know, one of the most popular characters is Ridge Forrester. That character is played by Thorsten Kaye, who was originally a part of the All My Children cast. But now, there are some rumors that another vet from the popular soap could be joining the lineup.
Cady McClain is a veteran of ‘All My Children’
Cady McClain is a veteran of All My Children who recently made Daytime Emmy history when she became the first actor to win Emmys for three different roles. Her first Emmy came from her role in the classic soap opera. Her second came for her role as Rosanna Cabot on As The World Turns. And her third came from her role as Jennifer Horton-Devereau on Days of Our Lives.
McClain has detailed her legendary career in her memoir, Murdering My Youth. But to date, she has never appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful.
However, a recent Instagram post had fans speculating that she would soon join the cast of the hit CBS soap opera.
She recently posted a photo teasing her ‘filming’
In a now-deleted Instagram post she made on Jan. 6, the All My Children vet teased that she was “back on set.” Soaps.com reported that she also wrote that she was having “fun to be working again on such a terrific show! Can’t wait to be able to share the news with you all soon!”
It’s unclear why she deleted the post. But fans speculated that it was because posting even a hint of her “work” violated the terms of her contract. Nevertheless, fans were excited about the prospect of seeing the beloved actor again.
Through the process of elimination, fans determined that she was filming on the set of The Bold and the Beautiful.
Could she be filming on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’?
McClain would be at home on any soap she joins. It would be nice if she was on the upcoming All My Children reboot, Pine Valley. However, that show is still in “development hell” and not yet in production. Since As The World Turns is off the air, she won’t be reprising her role from that show. Her character on The Young and the Restless is dead. And since Days of Our Lives brought back Melissa Reeves to reprise the Jennifer Horton-Devereaux role, she’s probably not returning there, either.
That leaves only two possibilities: General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful. It would be pretty cool if she guest-starred on the former since she’d be playing opposite her real-life husband Jon Lindstrom, who plays Kevin Collins on the show. But on the latter, she’d be reunited with Thorsten Kaye, who played Zach Slater on All My Children.
Regardless of where McClain turns up, soap fans will be thrilled.
