Is Alton Dead in ‘Snowfall’? These Season 5 Predictions Are All Over the Place
What happened to Alton Williams on Snowfall is a mystery that viewers are still waiting to find out. He disappeared more than a year ago and was last seen being approached by Reed Thompson after exposing the CIA’s connection to the crack-cocaine trade. The obvious assumption is that he was killed, but there are various other ideas too. Here are a few of the predictions about what happened to Alton on the show.
What happened to Alton on ‘Snowfall’
In Snowfall Season 4, viewers watched as Alton tried nonstop to bring Reed’s CIA involvement and the drug dealing to light. His crusade for justice made him a target, but Alton was ready for whatever if it meant he could get his message out and protect their community from further harm.
When Franklin Saint refused to set up a meeting between them, he took matters into his own hands and ambushed Reed. Cissy Saint arrived with Franklin just in time and convinced Alton to put the gun down and leave with her to Cuba. They left immediately with a promise from Reed that he wouldn’t go after them, but one day when Cissy was away, he did. Alton sensed he was there and waited for Reed to approach him.
‘Snowfall’ Season 5 touches lightly on him
In Snowfall Season 5, Franklin still doesn’t know what exactly happened to his dad, even over a year later. Some viewers assume he died based on how Alton comes up in conversation, but not everyone is sure.
One Reddit user wrote: “My thinking is A) if Teddy killed Alton what is keeping Cissy there? B) IF Alton is dead by gunshot, Frank would be sus and wouldn’t work with Teddy. C) We never heard a gunshot. D) The suits ‘confirmation’ that Teddy killed Alton is what they want you to think and that rarely is how a vague plot line like this plays out.”
Some viewers shared ideas for where he might be, including the possibility that he’s being held at Guantanamo Bay.
“Or maybe they could of gave him a heroin needle, and hooked him on drugs to discredit him? Make it look like he’s crazy,” read another Reddit comment.
Someone else on Reddit had the idea that “[Reed] actually hid him somewhere for a while to protect his from other people in the agency and other agencies. Teddy has a ton of respect for Franklin so this is possible [in my opinion], it’s hard for me to see Alton being dead. I feel he pops back up late in the season.”
But even as enticing as some of those ideas were, some people still weren’t convinced.
“Nope, he [dead],” read another comment.
