Sure there’s some drama within the bubblegum pink walls of the Werk Room and during the spinoff series Untucked. While working together outside of RuPaul’s Drag Race, these drag performers spilled some tea about each other, even if it was by accident.

Here’s how Trixie Mattel says Alyssa Edwards responded to some “backstage drama,” wishing other drag queens would do the same.

Trixie Mattel shared some ‘backstage tea’ about Alyssa Edwards

They’re a Drag Race family but, just like every family, there is some drama. These queens work, tour, and even live together. That includes Trixie Mattel, who briefly toured with the season 5 and All-Stars 2 contestant, Alyssa Edwards.

In 2017, when Trixie and Katya were on the Youtube series Hey Qween, the two briefly shared what it was like to be on tour with Alyssa Edwards. Trixie Mattel accidentally spilled some tea about Alyssa Edwards almost getting fired after being late to a gig. Apparently, Alyssa Edwards called her after the episode aired.

Trixie Mattel and Katya talked about the Alyssa Edwards drama during ‘UNHhhh’

It’s not all drama and marbles thrown onto the stage. During an episode of her WOW Presents series with Katya, titled UNHhhh, Trixie Mattel unpacked the events right after she spilled the tea.

“I will say this, famously, Alyssa Edwards of Drag Race cannon said, ‘I don’t entertain drama, chaos, confusion, and madness,’” Trixie Mattel said. “I once had, I wouldn’t say a beef with her. I was on a show called Hey Qween I said something unbecoming of something- I maybe insinuated. I told backstage tea.

“You would think Alyssa would be about the drama, she called me on the phone, and she said, ‘you know what? I heard there might be beef, and I’m just not that girl so, I just want to talk it through and squash it,’” Trixie Mattel continued.

Katya said the same thing happened to her, and it was “so direct, but not confrontational.”

Some ‘Drag Race’ drama during the series gets squashed during ‘Untucked’

Famously, RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked holds a lot of “behind the scenes” drama for each season of the reality competition series. (As RuPaul says, “if you’re not watching Untucked, you’re only getting half the story.)

A number of moments from the series are also brought up during the RuPaul’s Drag Race reunion, which airs right before the finale of each season. Some hold more drama than others, as the virtual reunion for season 12 was more about life in quarantine than tea on the runway.

Episodes of UNHhhh premiere on a weekly basis on YouTube and the premium streaming platform WOWPresents Plus. Additionally, some episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked are available for streaming on the World of Wonder YouTube Channel.
