The Amanda Show star took to Instagram to share a photo of herself wearing a massive emerald-cut ring. Sources told Insider that the sparkler is seemingly “between seven and 10 carats” and could’ve cost as much as $600,000.

Bynes kept the caption short and sweet, writing, “Engaged to tha love of my life.” She followed up by sharing a photo of herself and her man, affectionately referring to him as her “lover.” He’s seen wearing dark-colored glasses and a flannel shirt and giving a slight smile.

Sources told The Blast on Feb. 15 that the man’s name is Paul. He was allegedly born in the Los Angeles area to parents with ties to the television industry. He is reportedly in his 20s and in school.

Bynes, who has struggled with substance abuse issues, reportedly met him at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting a “couple of months” ago. Her last known rehab stint came in January 2019 after she suffered a relapse. In December of that year, Entertainment Tonight reported that Bynes had checked herself out of a sober living facility.

Despite the engagement, Bynes and Paul won’t immediately be heading to the altar. Since the former TV star is still under her parents’ conservatorship, she can’t legally get married until she gets approval from a judge. Sources noted that Bynes might not have known that she can’t just go and get married, which could lead to an “uphill battle with the courts and her parents.”

Before her most recent romance, Bynes was linked to rapper Kid Cudi. They sparked romance rumors in 2010, but she denied they were an item. However, she later wrote on Twitter that they had “dated” and admitted that she still had a lot of love for the “Day ‘N’ Nite” rapper.

Bynes also dated baseball player Doug Reinhardt. E! News reports that they began dating in November 2008 but split just two months later.

Reinhardt suggested to the outlet that he dumped Bynes after she wouldn’t allow him to have a guys’ night out without “flipping out” on him — and continued to diss her in the years that followed. In 2013, in the middle of her public meltdown, he claimed to OK! Magazine (via HollywoodLife) that she “would go crazy” on him for no apparent reason and had some “screws loose.”

But Bynes didn’t harp over the loss. Four months after their split, in May 2009, she was spotted getting close at a club with Liam Hemsworth. It appears that they lost touch shortly thereafter, but Bynes sent him a flirty message online in 2013, calling him “gorgeous.”

There were rumors that she also dated Channing Tatum after they starred in 2006’s She’s the Man. After filming wrapped, they were allegedly seen kissing, but neither confirmed any romance. Channing went on to date Jenna Dewan, whom he met on the set of 2006’s Step Up.

And in the earlier days of her career, she was linked to Taran Killam and Nick Zano. But those alleged relationships have not been confirmed.
