‘And Just Like That…’: Will Aidan Be in the Finale?
In our best Charlotte York voice, “Where is he?!” It was previously reported that John Corbett would reprise his role as Aidan Shaw in And Just Like That…, the revival of the hit HBO series Sex and the City. But there’s still no sign of him nine episodes later. Will Aidan be in the finale of And Just Like That… perhaps? It’s honestly still a mystery, but Corbett did say he would be in the show.
John Corbett on his involvement in ‘And Just Like That…’
When HBO first announced the revival, the Internet went wild with speculation about who might appear in the show. In addition to Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Kristin Davis (Charlotte York), and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes), Corbett confirmed in April of 2021 that he would also be part of the cast. “I’m going to do the show,” he told Page Six, adding that he thought he’d appear “in quite a few” episodes.
His character was first introduced in Sex and the City Season 3 following Carrie’s second breakup with Mr. Big (Chris Noth). They split after Carrie and Big’s affair, only to get back together and break up again in the following season.
Aidan’s last appearance was in 2010’s Sex and the City 2, when he and Carrie bumped into each other in Abu Dhabi. They still had chemistry and shared a kiss over dinner, but both were in committed relationships.

When the revival premiered in December of 2021, Carrie was happier than ever with Big. Sadly, he died soon after from a heart attack, leaving Carrie to start over. Some viewers thought Big’s death would pave the way for a Carrie and Aidan reunion. However, there’s still no trace of Aidan.
It’s unclear whether he’ll appear in the next episode. But with only one left, many are losing hope. It doesn’t help that Corbett is missing from the both show’s IMDb page and paparazzi photos with the cast. But maybe, knowing him, he and Carrie will run into each other again someday.
Showbiz Cheat Sheet reached out to representatives for Corbett for comment on whether he’s still involved with And Just Like That… but did not immediately hear back.
Will there be an ‘And Just Like That…’ Season 2?
Maybe fans will see Aidan if And Just Like That… gets renewed for another season. While the show was meant to be a limited series, it’s become so popular that many fans are expecting more.
HBO executive Casey Bloys told Vulture that the possibility of another season was “certainly a conversation we’ll have—for sure. But we haven’t decided anything or done anything.”
“I’m going to leave it up to these guys to figure out what they want to do, but I’m very happy with what they’ve done,” he continued. “I will tell you, it’s kind of what you want in a show like this. It really does feel like you’re picking up with old friends and haven’t missed a beat.”
