‘And Just Like That…’: Chris Noth Feels Like His ‘Life Is Over’ as a Fifth Woman Accuses Him of Sexual Assault
Sex and the City star Chris Noth has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women. A fifth woman has come forward with allegations against the actor who portrays Mr. Big in the iconic TV series. A source close to Noth revealed his thoughts on the accusations. Here are all the details we know so far.
A fifth woman has accused ‘And Just Like That…’ actor Chris Noth of sexual assault
On Dec. 16, The Hollywood Reporter shared the stories of two women who accused actor Chris Noth of sexual assault. Since the article was published, two more women have come forward with allegations against Noth.
A fifth woman, singer-songwriter Lisa Gentile, recently claimed in a press conference that Noth “sexually abused” and “sexually victimized” her in 2002.
According to Variety, Gentile alleged that Noth forcibly kissed her and touched her breasts, despite her telling him to stop. As Noth became more physically aggressive, the singer claimed that she “finally managed to push him away and get out of his grasp and yelled, ‘No, I don’t want this.’”
She said he “stormed out” of her apartment and then called the next day to say that if she ever told anyone what happened, he would “ruin [her] career” and “blacklist [her] in the business.”
Chris Noth ‘feels like his life is over’ after the sexual assault allegations
Noth denied the first two accusations in a statement to Us Weekly the same day The Hollywood Reporter story came out.
“The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false,” Noth said. “These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago – no always means no – that is a line I did not cross.”
While Noth didn’t deny having sexual encounters with his accusers, he claimed they were consensual. “The encounters were consensual,” Noth stated. “It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
The actor has hired attorney Andrew Brettler, who has also represented other famous men accused of similar crimes, including Prince Andrew, Armie Hammer, Bryan Singer, Chris D’Elia, and Ryan Adams.
According to Page Six, Noth’s friends are “worried” about him and how he’s reacting to the allegations.
“Chris honestly feels like his life is over,” a source told the publication. “I think that drinking has played a big role in his problems. Everything is taking a toll. His friends would like him to get some help.”
The actor has lost his agent, business deals, and TV roles
Noth is facing several consequences professionally as a result of the sexual assault allegations made against him.
He lost a $12 million deal for his tequila brand, Ambhar, which was under contract to be sold to the beverage company Entertainments Arts Research. The company pulled out of the agreement after the accusations came to light.
Exercise equipment company Peloton removed an ad featuring Noth, and he lost his role in the TV series The Equalizer.
Noth’s talent agency, A3 Artists Agency, is no longer working with him, just three months after the actor signed with the company.
