Angelina Jolie and British rapper Akala are sparking romance rumors following an alleged string of secret dates. While Jolie has been legally separated from Brad Pitt since 2019, she hasn’t been publicly romantically linked with anyone else. Now, new sources allege that Jolie met Akala’s friends and family. Angelina Jolie allegedly met Akala’s friends and family

Angelina Jolie is allegedly back in the dating scene. A source told In Touch Weekly in May 2024 that Jolie had romantic involvement with two different men over the past year — and one of them is British rapper Akala, whose real name is Kingslee James McLean Daley, is a 40-year-old London native who shares the same passion for social and humanitarian causes as Jolie.

Jolie and Akala were spotted out with Jolie’s daughters, Zahara, 19, and Shiloh, 18. Akala also was seen hugging Jolie’s son, Pax, at the U.S. premiere of her film, Maria. “I think a large part of her attraction to Akala, beyond the physical, is seeing him interact with her kids because that is so important to her,” a source alleged. “They connect over their interest in activism and share a passion for travel and discovering different cultures. It’s been a long time since she’s felt this kind of attraction.”

While Akala has met some of Jolie’s family, she’s also allegedly met his family and friends. A source told DailyMail.com that Akala introduced Jolie to his famous sister, British rapper Ms. Dynamite.

“[Jolie and Akala] were introduced through a charitable venture they were both supporting, and Angelina has been interested in learning more about his activism and loves his sister’s music,” the source explained.

He’s also opening Jolie’s eyes to the prominent Black figures in Britain.

“Akala has been teaching Angelina Jolie a lot about Black British history as she looks for new source material for films,” the source continued. He introduced her to the Kelso Cochrane story. She is a keen historian, so there have been a lot of conversations about Olive Morris and Kelso.”

Angelina Jolie and Akala haven’t publicly confirmed a romance. However, a source told The U.S. Sun that Jolie was spotted sneaking Akala into her London hotel suite in October 2024.

“Angelina and Akala have been secretly spending nights together at her London hotel The Corinthia,” the source alleged. “Angelina arrived at the hotel via the loading bay at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday before being joined by Akala at around 10 p.m. The pair spent Wednesday and Thursday night together inside the hotel and did not leave.”

The source added that Akala “snuck out of the hotel” via one of Jolie’s cars on Friday just a few hours before the premiere of her film, Maria.

“They are using separate cars and secret entrances to keep their relationship under wraps, but it’s the real deal,” the source continued.

Another source claims the 2 are not dating

Angelina Jolie and Akala may have a close friendship and nothing more. A source told People in August 2024 that Akala has a partner, Chanelle Newman, whom Jolie is also friends with. Reports suggested Jolie and Akala left a hotel together, but Newman was also present.

“She and Akala are not dating,” the source alleged. “She is friends with him and his partner, Chanelle, who was also there.”

Another source echoed this sentiment to Us Weekly.

“They are just friends,” the source claimed. “His partner has been with them at every event. Angelina is focusing on her work and is very grateful for the response to her new film, Maria.”
