Anna Duggar Doesn’t Bother to Wish Her Husband Josh Duggar Happy Father’s Day on Instagram
On Father’s Day, many members of the extended Duggar family took to social media to celebrate the dads in their life. Eldest Duggar daughter Jana posted a glowing tribute to her father Jim Bob Duggar on Instagram. Jessa Duggar sang the praises her husband Ben Seewald, while Jinger Duggar raved about how great a dad Jeremy Vuolo is. Even ex-Counting On star Jill Duggar got in on the act, acknowledging her husband Derick Dillard, her late father-in-law, and her own dad (even though she and Jim Bob are rumored to be on the outs).
But one member of the family didn’t have anything to say about Father’s Day. Josh Duggar’s wife Anna stayed quiet on social media on Sunday amidst the celebration of dads.
Anna Duggar didn’t wish Josh Duggar happy Father’s Day
Josh and Anna Duggar have been married since 2008. She has stuck with her husband through scandals and controversies, including the 2015 revelation that he had sexually abused several of his sisters when he was a teenager and his admission that he had been unfaithful to her.
Today, Josh and Anna have six children: Mackynzie, Michael, Marcus, Meredith, Mason, and Maryella. But despite their big brood, Anna, 31, didn’t bother to publicly celebrate Josh on Father’s Day this year. Instead, she let the day pass without a post.
Anna has praised Josh but also referred to ‘sorrow’ in their marriage
Despite being married for nearly a dozen years, Anna’s husband doesn’t appear that frequently on her Instagram. Mostly, she shares photos of the couple’s six kids. The last time Josh was seen on her social media was in early March, in a photo of a family bowling outing.
Anna doesn’t share that much about her marriage with her followers, but in an anniversary post from September 2019, she reflected on her relationship with Josh.
“The joys we’ve experienced together have far surpassed the shadows of sorrow we’ve walked through,” she wrote. “I love you so much Joshua and look forward to growing old together!”
On her birthday in June 2019, the mom of six referred to her husband, 32, as “the man of my dreams.”
Josh has had a troubled past
While he tends to stay out of the spotlight these days, Josh has had a troubled past. In May 2015, 19 Kids and Counting fans learned that he had molested several girls, including four of his sisters, in the early 2000s, when he was a young teen. After confessing his actions to his parents, he was sent to a Christian counseling center. The abuse was eventually reported to the police, but no charges were filed. TLC canceled the family’s show after the allegations became public.
A few months after the sexual abuse allegations generated tabloid headlines, Josh faced another scandal when his name appeared on a list of paid subscribers to cheating website Ashley Madison. In a statement, he admitted to being addicted to pornography and said he had been unfaithful to Anna. He later entered a faith-based rehab program.
Despite the scandals, his family has been able to rebuild their reality TV careers. In 2015, his sisters’ spinoff show, Jill & Jessa: Counting On, premiered on TLC. That show eventually morphed into Counting On and grew to focus on other members of the family as well. Josh has yet to be seen on that series, though Anna and their kids have made appearances on the reality show.
