Anna Duggar Just Told an Instagram Follower She and Josh Duggar Actually Have a YouTube Channel
A lot has changed for the Duggar family over the years. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were the first to bring their 19 children into the spotlight. And while the older Duggar kids are all managing to maintain a following via social media, there are still many followers who don’t approve of what the family continues to preach.
The most controversial Duggar family member is certainly Josh. Reports from 2015 claimed Josh molested underage girls — a few of whom were his sisters — in the early 2000s, and he has since owned up to his behavior. While Josh doesn’t have a social media presence, his wife, Anna, does, as she posts all about her family on her Instagram. And it seems Anna and Josh have an old YouTube channel as well, as she just told one of her Instagram followers.
Many of the Duggars have their own YouTube channels
Some of Jim Bob and Michelle’s older kids have had their own Instagrams for years, as it’s commonplace for them to create their social media profiles after marrying and leaving the big family home. We know Jessa, Jill, Jinger, and Joy-Anna — as well as others — now have serious followings online. And it seems they’re ready to expand their presence to YouTube as well.
Jessa frequently posts tutorials to her YouTube. From cleaning up her home to cutting her kids’ hair, she shares her methods through long videos. She doesn’t hesitate to get personal, either. More recently, Jessa has been making videos that are dedicated to her parents, and she’s shared stories of her family with her followers along the way.
As for Joy-Anna, she and her husband, Austin Forsyth, also have a channel. And they shared their most recent baby news via a YouTube video.
Jill’s content centers on her relationship with her husband, Derick Dillard, and her two sons. She posts videos showing off her date nights and time she spends with her kids.
There’s some suspicion that ‘Counting On’ won’t last
So, why are all the Duggars suddenly getting YouTube channels? It seems there’s some suspicion that Counting On won’t last. While the show has been on for years, it doesn’t appear to be picked back up by TLC just yet for another season. The coronavirus (COVID-19) scare could have something to do with possible production delays. But even so, Duggar family followers are noticing a shift.
“Counting On hasn’t been renewed for another season yet, and I think it’s because it has been replaced first by Instagram and now by YouTube,” a Reddit user wrote. “Why on earth would anyone want to watch the show with its boring interviews and snail pace when they could see real life updates on YouTube? … Everything on the show is old news anyway because of Instagram and tabloids, now the show won’t even get to show special footage.”
We can’t forget that some famous Duggar folks aren’t on the show, either. Jill and her husband are no longer featured. And Josh also doesn’t make appearances.
Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna, answered a follower who asked about her YouTube
So, since all the Duggars are evidently making YouTube channels for their followers, where do Josh and Anna stand? An Instagram follower asked Anna, “Anna where is your YouTube channel.”
To that, Anna answered, “Our family has one… we haven’t posted anything in years.”
So, will Anna resurrect her channel? We imagine she probably won’t. While she gets plenty of attention with her Instagram, she still gets a number of negative comments about Josh. Despite Josh’s past, Anna has always been transparent with Counting On fans regarding where she stands. And her decision to stick by her husband and support him has been criticized by many.
If Anna brought back her YouTube channel, there’s no doubt she would feature Josh from time to time. But that might be more negative attention than she wants to bring in. We’ll have to wait and see if Anna does start making video content to accompany her Instagram. For now, we’re not holding our breath.
