Negative media coverage continues to follow Blake Lively as her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni progresses. She and Another Simple Favor co-star, Anna Kendrick, promoted the film at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival on March 7, 2025. Kendrick dodged questions regarding Lively and how the actor’s lawsuits are impacting Another Simple Favor.

“How does it feel like the movie is being impacted kind of by everything happening around going on in the world?” a Variety reporter asked Kendrick.

“Why, what happened?” Kendrick replied. “I did ayahuasca and the last year of my life is just gone, but I’ve heard the movie’s amazing,” she continued before walking off.

In another interview, a reporter asked Kendrick, “What does it mean to be working with Blake Lively again?”

Kendrick replied, “Oh, you know,” as she walked away, prompting feud speculation.

However, Lively’s response to working with Kendrick shows the actors are on good terms. “Oh, it’s the best,” Lively said when asked how it felt to work with Kendrick again, a TMZ clip shows. “I’m so happy.”

Another Simple Favor director Paul Feig stepped in to stop the feud rumors. YouTuber Melanie King alleged on X that Kendrick never wanted to work with Lively following the It Ends With Us drama. To that, Feig wrote, “Um … you’re wrong.”

Feig elaborated on his “great experience” working with the actors on the first film, A Simple Favor. He couldn’t wait to continue with the sequel. “I mean, I had such a great experience on the first one. It always kind of stuck with me. God, I love working with the two of them, as well as the rest of the cast,” he told People.

In October 2024, Kendrick told People that it’s “so fun” working with Lively again. “She lives on the East Coast, I live on the West Coast, so we don’t get to see each other often,” Kendrick said of Lively. “But it was lovely, and I think that those characters have such weird chemistry that it’s so fun to just get the gang back together. And it does feel a little bit like riding a bike.”
