After Another Surprise Appearance, a Former Palace Employee Predicts Which Glitzy Affair Kate Middleton Will Attend Next That No One Is Talking About
The Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) recently shared that she has completed her chemotherapy and is now “cancer-free” in a moving video message posted to Instagram on Sept. 9.
Since then, Prince William’s wife has been spotted heading to a church service at Balmoral in Scotland on Sept. 22, and made a surprise trip to the English National Ballet in London on Sept. 26. Now, many royal watchers are debating when we see her in public next and which royal events she’ll attend before the end of the year.
Well, according to someone who used to work for the royal family, there’s one event Kate likely has circled on her calendar in the coming months, but it’s not one anyone else has mentioned her attending.
Speculation swirls about the next royal event Kate will appear at
Before Kate announced that she had completed her treatment, she made a couple of public appearances. Her first was during King Charles’ Trooping the Colour birthday parade in June. The second was when she attended Wimbledon the following month with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and sister, Pippa Middleton.
Former BBC correspondent and royal expert Jennie Bond has said that she believes the two upcoming events Kate will be attending next are Remembrance Day in November and then on Christmas at Sandringham.
Bond told Fabulous: “Big events, maybe such as the Cenotaph Remembrance Day service, might be something where she feels she would want to be … I think big set-piece occasions like that are where we might see her. I’m hopeful we might see her on Christmas Day at Sandringham. The natural progression would be for them to be together at Sandringham on Christmas Day.”
Former royal assistant believes the princess won’t want to miss the royals’ big glitzy party
Paul Burrell began working for the royal family when he was 18 years old and served as Queen Elizabeth II‘s personal footman. In 1987, he was moved to the household of then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana. When they separated, Burrell served as Diana’s butler until her death.
He agreed that Kate will likely appear at The Cenotaph, but there’s another affair after that no one is talking about that he believes the princess won’t want to miss.
Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Burrell opined: “I think that you will see her at The Cenotaph in November, a tribute to those who died in conflict. That is an occasion she would want to go to which people would want to see her at.”
He added that Kate would also love to attend a glitzy party at Buckingham Palace and that is the Diplomatic Reception in December. That’s when the royals host about 1,000 Ambassadors, High Commissioners, their spouses, and other guests for drinks, dinner, and dancing.
“There aren’t many occasions now through the rest of the year, other than the Diplomatic Reception of Buckingham Palace, which is the biggest night of the year for the royals, where every room of Buckingham Palace is used, and every diplomat in London attends,” Burrell explained. “That is a very big night. She may appear at that, but there aren’t many other occasions that she will.”
