After Ant Anstead Calls Out Christina Haack’s ‘Dangerous’ Parenting, Renée Zellweger ‘Bonds’ with His Son
Ant Anstead accused his ex-wife Christina Haack of endangering their 2-year-old son while his current partner, Renée Zellweger, has been “bonding” with the toddler. Here’s what Anstead said about his HGTV star ex, and how Zellweger has been connecting with their child.
Ant Anstead slammed his ex-wife Christina Haack’s parenting and filed for full custody of their 2-year-old son
English TV presenter Ant Anstead and HGTV star Christina Haack got married in 2018. They had one son together, Hudson London Anstead, before filing for divorce in 2020.
After the divorce, the former couple shared custody of their son. Haack and Anstead also each have two children from their first marriages. The English TV presenter went on to date actor Renée Zellweger, while the Flip or Flop star married real estate agent Joshua Hall.
On Apr. 28, Anstead filed for full custody of Hudson. He slammed Haack in court documents, claiming she created a dangerous environment for the toddler and put him at medical risk. One incident he cited as an example of Haack’s dangerous parenting was returning Hudson to him with a sunburn so severe that the toddler cried in pain.
Haack responded with court documents of her own, including a letter with evidence she believes proves that her ex lied. Anstead was denied his emergency order for full custody, and the judge set a hearing for June in which both parties may argue their case as to whether or not the custody agreement should change.
Ant Anstead’s partner, Renée Zellweger, has been ‘bonding’ with his son amid the custody battle with Christina Haack
While Ant Anstead accused his ex-wife Christina Haack of endangering their son, the English TV presenter’s new partner, Renée Zellweger, has reportedly “bonded” with the toddler.
An inside source told US Weekly on May 4 that the Judy star is “doting and caring” with Anstead’s children.
“Renée gets on so great with Hudson,” the insider shared. “She’s really bonded with him, and Ant loves how doting and caring she is with his kids when they’re all together.”
The source added that Anstead and Zellweger are “uncomplicated” and “down to earth,” despite the public attention around their relationship and family.
“They’re deliberately uncomplicated in that way – no airs or graces and totally down to earth,” said the insider. “Renée loves taking trips to the park and long walks on the beach, and they’ll watch plenty of TV together and play house. It’s all very positive and calm whenever they’re together with Hudson.”
Renée Zellweger has been spotted spending time with Hudson
Fans don’t have to take the inside source’s word for it – there is proof that Renée Zellweger has spent plenty of time with Ant Anstead and Christina Haack’s son.
In January, the Bridget Jones’s Diary star was spotted playing with the toddler in a park. His father, Ant Anstead, was nowhere in sight, giving Zellweger and the 2-year-old some time alone together.
While the actor is quite private and does not have an Instagram account, she occasionally appears on Anstead’s page. An Instagram video posted on March 10 appeared to be taken by Zellweger. It showed the English TV presenter and his son playing on a beach. At one point, the toddler runs up to the camera, excitedly saying, “Hey Nay Nay! Nay Nay!”
Anstead’s Instagram post from April 30 further suggests that “Nay Nay” is Zellweger’s nickname. Although only Anstead and his two sons appear in the photos, he captioned the images, “What a really special birthday week that started at Disney and ended in Maui!! Specials moments with brothers, sons and NayNay 🥰❤️”
