Ant Anstead Thanks Fan After They Point Out Possible Issue With His Son’s Car Seat
Ant Anstead is spending some quality time with his son. On Oct. 17, the newly single dad shared some sweet photos of himself and his 1-year-old boy Hudson on Instagram. But after the Wheeler Dealers host posted about their “proper boys morning,” an eagle-eyed commenter spotted a possible issue with Hudson’s car seat that they feared was putting his safety at risk.
Ant Anstead enjoys some dad-son bonding time post-split
In September, Hudson’s mom Christina Anstead announced that she and her husband of less than two years were going their separate ways.
“Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate. We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority,” the Christina on the Coast star wrote in the Sept. 18 Instagram update. She also asked for privacy for herself and her family “as we navigate the future.”
Since his wife announced their breakup, the Brit-born HGTV star has been posting about his three kids on social media (he has two other children from his first marriage) and sharing news about the “breakup recovery” course he is enrolled in, which he described as a “lifeline.”
His recent day with Husdon involved Anstead’s passion: cars.
“Hudzo and I set the early alarm clock, went to the workshop, fired up Mustang Sally and cruised like two rockstars to cars n coffee!” he wrote, adding that the trip was “followed by breakfast and a nap (to the sound of a rumbling V8) perfect!!”
A fan has some concerns about Hudson’s safety
Anstead shared 10 photos of his day with Hudson, but it was one image in particular that caught the eye of a commenter.
“[P]lease sort his straps out on his car seat,” the person wrote. “I’m not being rude or horrible I’m just a fussy worried mum but those straps would never save him in an accident and he’s too precious to be injured.”
In the photo, Hudson is sitting in his car seat. But the straps holding him are loose around his upper body, which was what raised the red flag for the fan.
The concerned fan also noted that Ansead is “in a position of a famous dad in the car industry with lots of followers please tighten them and show everyone how it’s done.”

Anstead was quick to respond to the fan’s concerns.
“You are right! Adjusted and sorted! He’s way too precious! My mistake,” he responded.
Fans loved that he was so swift to acknowledge a possible problem with Hudson’s car seat and took the feedback so well.
“I’m happy he was receptive to the feedback,” one wrote.
“I absolutely commend you for not taking a comment made of love and concern the wrong way,” another commented.
