The Umbrella Academy Season 3 premiered on Netflix on June 22, 2022, and fans saw a new version of Ben Hargreeves (Justin H. Min). Ben died as a teenager, but his brother Klaus (Robert Sheehan) can talk to ghosts. Audiences still watched Ben help his family avert the end of the world. In season 2, when the siblings returned to the present day, they landed in an alternate timeline. In this version of reality, Ben lived and held rank as number two in The Sparrow Academy. However, in The Umbrella Academy Season 3 mid-credits scene, viewers saw yet another Ben alive and well in Korea.

‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season 3 features a mid-credits scene in the finale episode

After the Hargreeves supposedly reset the universe, they return to a world where their father, Reginald (Colm Feore), seemingly runs everything. The siblings see his name plastered on every building in sight. While the Sparrow Academy version of Ben returned with the Umbrella Academy, Sloane did not. This sets up plenty of plots to resolve in upcoming seasons.

Fans shouldn’t turn their televisions off as the credits start to roll in the finale. The Umbrella Academy Season 3 finale features a mid-credits scene that hints at some of the troubles heading the Hargreeves’ way in season 4. The camera shows another version of Ben riding a subway in Korea. He reads a book on the train before looking up and smiling out the window.

Does every Hargreeves sibling now have a doppelganger?

The OG Ben said goodbye when he helped Vanya control her powers in The Umbrella Academy Season 2. He was only a ghost at the point anyway, but still, fans took his death hard as he had become a fan favorite. Thankfully, Min returned as Emo Ben in season 3. He was angrier, surlier, and nothing like the Ben we’d all come to know and love. However, he seemed to be making some steps toward his old self by the end of The Umbrella Academy Season 3. The mid-credits scene implies that when the Hargreeves reset the universe, it also changed the fate of the original Hargreeves kids’ mothers.

If Ben’s mother survived Harlan’s unintended wrath, that means there’s a chance the other’s moms also survived. Number Five (Aiden Gallagher) warned his family running into their doppelgangers had catastrophic consequences, but because their mothers died in the Kugelblitz timeline, they didn’t have to worry. Now, it looks like that worry is back on the list.

Could ‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season 3 mid-credits scene mean OG Ben has returned?

Another possibility regarding The Umbrella Academy Season 3 mid-credits scene is that Train Ben (that’s what we’re calling him at this point. There are too many Bens.) is actually OG Ben. If the siblings messed with the timeline again, maybe OG Ben never died as a teenager. OG Ben might not even know about his superpowers.

On the other hand, Train Ben might be an evil version of OG Ben. If that’s the case, we imagine Klaus and the rest of the gang will have a hard time taking him out. Regardless, at the earliest, we won’t know until The Umbrella Academy Season 4.

In the meantime, all episodes of The Umbrella Academy Season 3 are currently streaming on Netflix.
