Film and television actress Rosario Dawson surprised the world when it was announced that she is in a romantic relationship with presidential hopeful Cory Booker. Who is Rosario Dawson?
Rosario Isabel Dawson is of Afro-Cuban, Puerto Rican, Irish, and Native American ancestry. Dawson was born in 1979 in New York City. She has been an actress since the age of 15 when she appeared in the movie Kids.
Since then, Dawson has gone on to act in movies and television including Josie and the Pussycats, Rent, and the Syfy network’s, Gemini Division. She also has a role in this year’s film Zombieland: Double Tap.

Who is Cory Booker?
Born in 1969 to an activist family, Cory Booker is a native of Washington D.C. Raised in Harrington Park, New Jersey, he attended school at Stanford and Yale, where he earned a Juris Doctorate. He was involved in the National Black Law Students Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters. In New Haven Connecticut, he operated a free legal clinic for low-income residents.
In 2006, Booker won the mayoral seat in Newark, New Jersey. Taking a hands-on approach to the job, he was nicknamed the “super mayor” by the Toronto Sun and “America’s Most Overachieving Mayor” by The Week.
In 2013, Booker won the U.S. Senate seat in New Jersey vacated by the death of Senator Frank Lautenberg. In 2016, he was re-elected to that seat. Booker announced his 2020 candidacy for U.S. president in January of 2019.

Dawson and Booker were spotted together at the Broadway show Dear Evan Hansen. According to Page Six, Corey told Ellen DeGeneres that Dawson is an incredible girlfriend.
“I’m very lucky to be in a relationship with someone who is just so incredibly special,” the New Jersey senator said.
Dawson feels fond of Booker too. She told TMZ that she is “just grateful to be with someone that I respect and love and admire so much.”

After appearing to be in support of Booker’s campaign, Dawson was noticeably absent from several public events. She missed the first three debates leaving some to speculate.
But the pair were seen together in Los Angeles at the premiere and global screening launch of the new film, The Need to Grow, a documentary about the state of the environment narrated by Dawson. Dawson’s name also appeared on a chair and the Booker campaign confirmed her attendance for the fourth debate. Based on a CNN photograph, she posed with Democratic presidential candidate, Tom Steyer, after that debate, which proves she was there.
When recently asked about a potential engagement, Booker said on NPR’s “Off Script”: “Ay, dios mío I can’t announce something like that. She would be mad at me. That would be her saying no. Should I ever get to that point, I will try to embarrass her and put her on the spot. But I’m not making any . . . I’m very happily happy where I am right now.”
