Are John Krasinski and Emily Blunt Still Married?
Fans of A Quiet Place might be wondering if Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are still married. Are there more joint projects to come from these two, including a sequel to A Quiet Place?
Even though they’ve known each other for a long time, A Quiet Place was their first movie together. That doesn’t mean their other projects aren’t influenced by one another.
Part of what makes Blunt and Krasinski such a great couple is the fact that they both support each other. Blunt has great things to say about how her husband is totally behind her.
As for Krasinski, he seems just as in love with Blunt today as he was when they first met.
It was love at first sight
These two have been together since 2008. After more than a decade of romance, they are still going strong. As for how they met, it’s pretty sweet, and maybe even worthy of its own romantic movie.
Krasinski was still starring in The Office when he first laid eyes on Blunt. His role as Jim Halpert launched him into the limelight. It’s still one of the most popular sitcoms out there, even though it’s been off the air for 10 years.
Considering Jim Halpert was one of Krasinski’s first roles, he was pretty excited about his career prospects in 2008. He was looking forward to continuing his career, and certainly wasn’t looking to start a family.
In his words, “I wasn’t really looking for a relationship and I was thinking I’m going to take my time in LA. Then I met her and I was so nervous. I was like, ‘Oh god, I think I’m going to fall in love with her.’ As I shook her hand I went, ‘I like you.'”
Their first date was at a gun range
While a gun range date doesn’t seem very romantic, it must have worked. In Krasinski’s mind, the gun range date would be a fun way to spend the only date he would have with Blunt.
He thought for sure that things weren’t going to work out between them, so as he puts it, “I think that I was so sure that I would never end up with her… that I was like, ‘You know what, I’m gonna blow it right away and then that way you don’t feel bad.'”
Things did work out, though. They married in 2010 and are still married today.
Do they have any kids?
Blunt and Krasinski have two daughters together. Hazel, 5, and Violet, 3, always come first. Krasinski and Blunt have been very clear that their family is the most important thing in their lives.
Even though they’re dedicated parents, they still work on projects together. Some famous couples, like Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr, won’t work on movies together because it means both parents are away from the kids at the same time.
For Krasinski and Blunt, they have to find a way to make it work. They have discovered that artistically, they’re better together. Their working relationship is separate from their romantic one, but it is just as strong. They’re together on set all the time, whether or not they are working on a scene together. For A Quiet Place 2, coming out in 2020, Blunt helped Krasinski direct.
According to Krasinski, Blunt “would have incredible ideas and incredible notes on shooting script and on color performances. She’s just the most supportive person to have around.”
Blunt had great things to say about the experience as well. Although she was nervous to mix business with pleasure, working together has ultimately been a good thing.
She says the two “discovered new sides to each other that go beyond us being a married couple… We were really in the thick of it together.”
She says the whole experience has served to bring them closer together.
