The Duggars are a controversial bunch. While Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar put their lives for all the world to see via 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On, there’s plenty we don’t know about the famous family. And their finances still remain somewhat of a mystery.

Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard, recently took to his Instagram to drop some truth bombs about the Duggar family. And he claimed Jim Bob controlled the finances from Counting On for his adult kids, though we can’t say for certain whether this is true or false.

Either way, it looks like Kendra and Joseph Duggar may be looking to make an extra buck. Kendra took to her Instagram Story to share an advertisement for a product. Here’s what she’s promoting.

Kendra and Joseph Duggar are likely pulling in quite a lot of money through ‘Counting On’

First off, it’s important to note that the Duggars make quite a bit of money through television. Since they’ve graced the small screen for years and many of the family members don’t hold down steady jobs, it’s clear they’re making a living. And since Joseph and Kendra Duggar are featured on the show quite often, they have their hand in the pot, too.

Romper reminds us Joseph and Kendra had their wedding featured on Counting On, which certainly earned them some big bucks. And the publication notes another report from In Touch Weekly touched on how much the Duggar family brought in on average per episode of the show.

Terence Michael, a producer of reality television, explained the families on reality shows typically take away about 10% of the show’s budget per episode. For the Duggars, that means they’re probably taking away between $25,000 and $40,000 per episode, as TLC takes about $250,000 to $400,000 to make each episode.

Does Joseph Duggar have a job?

We know Kendra doesn’t have a job, as the Duggar women don’t have full-time jobs outside of the home. But what about Joseph Duggar? According to In Touch Weekly, Joseph is following in the footsteps of many other Duggars and flipping houses.

Back in 2017, the publication notes Joseph was trying to get his commercial driver’s license and real estate license. The commercial license would allow Joseph to operate heavy machinery, like dump trucks, which would help him flip homes.

While most of the Duggars haven’t gone to college, it seems Joseph took it upon himself to get some more schooling, too. The Duggars announced on Facebook in 2016, “Joseph just completed a year at Crown Bible College and is now back working with the Duggar family business doing construction. He now plans to acquire his real estate license and his CDL license.”

Since Kendra and Joseph are making money on TV and Joseph has other work, do they need excess cash? We’re not sure — but Kendra’s Instagram ad is making us think that maybe they do.

“I’m really excited about this Vanity Planet facial cleansing brush,” Kendra told her Instagram Story on Feb. 6. She then went on to explain how it works, and she demonstrated the product on her face.

It seems some of her Instagram lurkers aren’t impressed by the ad. One Reddit user noted, “that was…. really hard to watch. It is definitely not that hard to be an influencer yet none of the wives are able to do it without looking deeply confused or terrified.”

Another added, “Did you see the small cringe when it touched her face ‘oh Lord. Protect me from this brush. I just need some money.'”

It’s possible Kendra is getting into the influencer life because of the other Duggar women advertising the same products. We’ll have to see if she continues down this path or lets her Instagram remain the way it was before.
