Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson are moving fast. Just months after Cyrus announced her divorce from actor Liam Hemsworth, she and Cody Simpson are gushing over how much they adore one another.
Though they clearly are happy with one another, are they ready to take the next step and start planning a family?
Miley Cyrus ends things with Liam Hemsworth
After almost a decade of dating and only a few months of marriage, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth called it quits in August of 2019.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep for Cyrus said in a statement to People at the time.“Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of [the] animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Shortly after the split became public, Cyrus began dating former The Hills: New Beginnings star Kaitlynn Carter. The relationship didn’t last long and soon Cyrus was on to Simpson.
Why are Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson moving so fast?
It’s been less than six months since Hemsworth and Cyrus broke up and she’s already hot and heavy with Simpson. It’s like the two skipped the fun dating stage and went straight into a serious relationship. But according to Simpson, the speed of their relationship is due to the fact that they’ve known each for so long.
“When you can just say…we’ve been friends…the reason why it’s not like, it hasn’t been like a really crazy, sudden thing is because we’ve been friends for so long that when, you know, we sort of found each other again in a space…we both met back in the day when we were partying a lot and we like, had a lot of fun then, but now we found each other in a space where we’re not partying, working real hard, and it just keeps things healthy,” he told HollywoodLife.

Cyrus and Simpson are still doing great but aren’t ready to start procreating just yet. Simpson went on The Kyle and Jackie O Show and revealed that he and Cyrus don’t have plans to have children right now.
“None yet, mate,” he said when asked about baby plans. Later, adding that he is very careful during sex to ensure that there are no baby surprises.
How does Miley feel about Liam Hemsworth moving on?
Though Cyrus was the first one to get back into the dating game, Hemsworth has also started seeing someone new. He and model Gabriella Brooks were recently spotted packing on the PDA. But Cyrus is ignoring it all.
“Miley is not asking their mutual friends about Liam’s new relationship,” a source told HollywoodLife. “She doesn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable. She is not checking in on Liam as they do have a very few mutual friends they still both speak to, however, a lot of their friends chose sides and don’t communicate with the others post the split. They will communicate here and there between friends but not over that. The split was hard on their few mutual friends, too.”
