Are Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne Still Married?
Ozzy Osbourne is just one of those names that everyone recognizes. Whether you are 20 or 60 you know who Ozzy is. His music is instantly recognizable and his outlandish and wild behavior is just as noteworthy.
Throughout the years, Ozzy has had one woman stand by his side. She has been there through the ups and downs, the fame, and the drugs. Now, their marriage seems stronger than ever.
Their marriage has withstood the test of time
If you were a wagering person, chances are, if you were asked 30 years ago whether Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne would end up being one of the longest marriages in Hollywood, you would have said no. But here we are, nearly 36 years after the couple said “I do,” and their marriage has defied the odds.
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne married on July 4, 1982. Shortly after the couple was married they added to their family. Daughter Aimee was born in 1983. Kelly followed in 1984 and Jack was born in 1985.
It hasn’t always been easy
In 2016, Sharon and Ozzy separated after it was revealed that Ozzy had an affair with celebrity hairstylist Michelle Pugh. When asked about the affair, Ozzy said, “I upset my wife and I upset my family and I made a lot of shock and shame.”
He continued saying that he was a “[expletive] idiot.” But at the same time, when asked what the key to a successful marriage was, the Black Sabbath frontman replied, “Don’t get caught by your missus.”
This wasn’t the first time Ozzy cheated on his wife. The rocker has reportedly had an affair with six other women. In 2016, Ozzy was admitted to rehab for sex addiction.
The couple pulled through the affairs and at the end, Ozzy said, “There’s no other woman I really want to spend the rest of my life with. You make a mistake and you learn by it.”
It seems that Mrs. O feels the same way. In 2017, Sharon told The Sun that she “adores Ozzy.” She also discussed on her show, The Talk how she had fallen back in love with her husband.
Drugs have also been an issue
In addition to infidelity, the couple has had to battle drugs throughout their 36-year marriage. In 2013, Sharon discussed her husband’s drug addiction. She said that at the time, she didn’t know her husband was taking prescription drugs.
Sharon told her co-hosts on the show that drugs hurt more than just the person taking the drugs, they hurt the people that love you as well.
But it hasn’t just been Ozzy drug abuse that has strained the family, two of their children, Kelly and Jack Osbourne, have also battled addiction. Through it all, the family has managed to work through the hard times and find a way to make it work.
Sharon has turned into the star of the family
There was a time when Ozzy was the draw of the family. And true, the family likely would not have the fame that they do if it were not for Ozzy’s career. But lately, it has been Sharon who has been seeing success.
Sharon currently co-hosts the CBS talk show, The Talk. She has been on the show since its beginning in 2010. Prior to The Talk, Sharon was a judge on the Fox talent competition, The X Factor.
As for Ozzy, he was set to tour North America and Europe this year but had to postpone due to an illness and injury. This is the second time that Ozzy has had to postpone performances recently because of an illness.
After his last cancellation, the rocker expressed his disappointment on Instagram, “Words cannot express how frustrated, angry and depressed I am not to be able to tour right now.”
He is expected to reschedule the dates starting in February 2020.
