It’s because the Black-ish actor has been linked to former One Direction singer Harry Styles. Rumors emerged after a source claimed they had seen the pair out together. But are Tracee Ellis Ross and Harry Styles really dating? Here’s what we know.
How Tracee Ellis Ross and Harry Styles met and what their relationship is like
Ross and Styles met on Instagram, as she explained in a December 2019 appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden.
“You know, the DMs,” she shared. “Harry started liking my pictures. I was like, ‘Who is this Harry Styles?’ And then I started commenting on your pictures. I was like, ‘When is he gonna perform in L.A.?’ And you were like, ‘This weekend. Do you wanna come?’ And I was like, ‘I do sir.”
Styles, who had been guest-hosting the show, confirmed that they had met on Instagram and that Ross wound up coming to his show. But neither of them gave any indication that they were romantically interested in each other, with Ross saying she had simply sought him out because she’s “obsessed with his songs.”
Why people think Tracee Ellis Ross and Harry Styles are dating
The rumors started spreading after a fan claimed they’d seen Ross and Styles on a date at the Italian restaurant Pace in Los Angeles about “6/8 months ago,” per Ace Showbiz.
The person also said they’d heard the two allegedly having a “juicy” conversation, during which they “were asking each other where the wildest place they have hooked up was and if they should go to the bathroom together.”
Neither Ross nor Styles has addressed the rumors so far, but they’re so wild that it’s hard to believe they’re true, especially considering that Ross is carefully private about her image and her private life.
While she has been linked to several people over the years, she typically keeps her relationships under wraps and out of the spotlight.
“I was born into a very public family and so I gained a relationship for myself to what is important … [and] what is sacred in my life,” Ross told ABC News in 2017 when explaining the reason she’s so low-key about her dating life.
“I don’t make a decision [that] ‘I will never talk about my relationships’ or anything like that,” she continued. “That’s certainly not a decision that I’ve made or anything like that, but there are certain things that are sacred to me that are not for public consumption. They are mine.”
In the past, Ross was linked to music executive Abou ‘Bu’ Thiam from 2011 to 2013 and Black-ish creator Kenya Barris from January 2020 to May 2020. For his part, Styles has dated Kendall Jenner, Taylor Swift, and Cara Delevingne, among others.
