‘Are You the One?’ Season 8 Episode 5: There Was A Fivesome?
In the previous episode of Are You the One? Justin and Max made out in a closet and were inseparable at the Queer Prom. Aasha admitted she has a crush on both boys and wants to explore those possible connections. Jenna broke up with Kai, but they got back together during the Getaway Date, only to find out they weren’t a perfect match the next day. However, the news didn’t halt their relationship as they can’t seem to stay away from each other.
In Are You the One? Season 8 Episode 5, the singles compete in a challenge and vote a pair into the Truth Booth. Who goes on the Getaway Date and which couples sat together for the matchup ceremony? Keep reading to find out!
Justin and Max get into a fight
The two lovers have spent a lot of time with each other getting to know one another, and Max is ready to go to the Honeymoon Suite. However, Justin told his possible match that he wanted to explore other connections in the house. Aasha, who has a crush on both boys, talked to Justin outside which ended in a makeout session.
Jasmine, Nour, and Remy see them kissing and immediately ran inside to tell Max. Hurt and embarrassed, Max told Justin he wanted nothing to do with him anymore. Justin later opened up to Basit about his abandonment issues caused by his father who left him and his mother who kicked him out when he was 14-years-old. He realized he pushes people away and cuts them off so quickly because he doesn’t want someone he truly cares about leaving him.
After letting Max cool down for a couple of days, he admitted he used the game as a way to not get close him. However, Justin promised he wouldn’t kiss anyone else, and they began making out. Nour saw and believes they’re not meant to be together.
Kai and Jenna are obsessed with each other
After being a confirmed no match last week, Kai and Jenna are both admittedly obsessed with each other. Even though Jenna is trying to explore something with Danny and Kai is pursuing Kari, the two can’t seem to let each other go. In Are You the One? Season 8 Episode 5, they made out in the closet which carried to the Boom Boom Room. Apparently, they were going at it so loudly that they woke up Jasmine, Aasha, and Kylie who joined them for a fivesome.
Getaway Challenge and Date
The singles had to answer questions using emojis for their partner to decipher. The top two pairs who solve it the fastest will go on the next Getaway Date. Jenna and Danny, Remi and Basit, Kai and Kari, and Paige and Max figured their partner’s message out reasonably quickly. However, Nour and Amber and Justin and Aasha did not do as well. Jenna and Danny and Kai and Kari ended up being the winners of the WaveRunner date.
On the Getaway Date, Jenna admitted to Danny that she was still tangled up in Kai’s web. He told her she’s chasing after the wrong things and he can offer her emotional stability. Kai and Kari’s alone time didn’t go as well because Kari doesn’t trust Kai. She said she needs someone who will cut off all their exes and knows he won’t cut off what he has with Jenna. Kai asked her to give him an opportunity; however, Kari still isn’t sure.
‘Are You the One?’ Season 8 Episode 5 Truth Booth and Matchup Ceremony
Because Danny and Jenna are so similar, an overwhelming majority of the house voted them in the Truth Booth. They turned out to not be each other’s match, crushing Danny. He told the cameras it hurt because no one’s ever understood him the way Jenna did since his ex. Danny opened up to Basit about his failed engagement three years ago, and how he thought he would have a wife and kids now.
At the matchup ceremony, Danny and Basit, Kylie and Jonathan, Aasha and Remy, Kari and Kai, Jasmine and Brandon, Justin and Max, Amber and Nour, and Paige and Jenna sat with each other. The cast received only one beam, signifying one perfect match.
