Ariana Grande Revealed She Can’t Stop Breaking Rules on ‘The Voice’
Ariana Grande joined The Voice Season 21 as the singing competition’s newest judge. The musician, who is a longtime fan of the show, was excited to get started on the program. It appears that she was also excited to start breaking some rules. Though Grande hasn’t been there for long, she said she’s already broken every rule laid out for the judges.

In May 2021, Grande announced that she would be replacing Nick Jonas on The Voice in her first foray into reality TV. When the pop star first shared the news, she added that she loves the long-running competition series.
“I have been a huge fan of the show for such a long time,” she said, Us Magazine reports. “I can’t wait to go head-to-head with the incredible coaches, get to know these new artists and help to take their craft to the next level.”
Grande joins fellow judges Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson on the coaching panel.
She said she keeps breaking rules
On an appearance on Clarkson’s daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Grande revealed that she loves her position and the team she coaches.
“It’s just like a really special experience to be able to share some of what we’ve learned and been able to do in our lives with these artists that are just wanting to do the same thing,” she said. “It’s a really special opportunity to be able to share that with people. To be in that position is really interesting.”
In fact, she’s so excited about the artists on her team that she’s not afraid to break the rules for them. She revealed to Clarkson that she loves to stay in contact with her team outside of the show, even though she’s not supposed to.
“I’ve broken every rule in my contract,” she said. “I talk to them all, all the time. I’m like, DMing them. They’re like, ‘You’re not supposed to do that.’ And I’m like, ‘Sorry.’”
Clarkson added that Grande goes beyond just DMing her team.
“You’re sending stuff to the hotel for them. This is the coolest thing about you, though,” she said.
Whether Grande’s close relationship with her team pays off isn’t clear yet. It’s evident that she had a good time hosting her first season of The Voice, however.

Even though she’s breaking every rule in the book, Grande is taking home the biggest paycheck on the show.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Grande’s net worth is $200 million. She’s adding to that with her work on The Voice. The singer likely makes anywhere between $20 and $25 million to appear on the show. Per StyleCaster, Clarkson makes an estimated $15 million, Legend makes $13 million, and Shelton makes a minimum of $13 million.
Grande’s massive popularity as an artist and a celebrity contribute to her noticeably higher paycheck.
