Ariana Grande’s Vera Wang Wedding Gown Was Planned Years Before She Met Dalton Gomez
Ariana Grande was planning her wedding long before she walked down the aisle.
The singer married 25-year-old real estate broker Dalton Gomez in an intimate ceremony at her home in Montecito, California, earlier this month. Initially, the details of their nuptials were kept secret.
However, that all changed on May 26, when Vogue published photos from the couple’s big day. The publication also revealed a surprising fact about Grande’s classic wedding look, which was that she made a “pact” with designer Vera Wang over her gown years before she even met her new husband.
Ariana Grande channeled Audrey Hepburn with her wedding dress
On May 15, Grande married Gomez inside their Montecito mansion.
Media outlets reported that the wedding was very “intimate” as only close family and friends were present for the couple’s nuptials.
“It was tiny and intimate — less than 20 people,” a source told People at the time. “The room was so happy and full of love. The couple and both families couldn’t be happier.”
Though insiders confirmed the pair’s marriage, neither Grande nor Gomez has officially announced their union.
However, the “Positions” hitmaker recently gave her followers an inside look into her and Gomez’s intimate wedding ceremony by sharing photos from her big day.
On May 26, Grande posted a series of snapshots of her and Gomez on their wedding day, including one of them surrounded by rows of white church candles and shimmering streamers that decorated their home.
In another photo, the singer’s stunning wedding dress is on full display. According to Vogue magazine, the gown was inspired by the dress Audrey Hepburn wore in the film Funny Face.
Though Grande’s silk, strapless dress was reminiscent of Hepburn’s, it wasn’t the same one the late actor wore as it had an architectural bust line and cutout in the back emphasizing the pleat at the bottom.
The hitmaker paired the classic ivory gown with a bowed-veil, white platform heels, and her hair half-up with soft curls.
Vera Wang promised to design Ariana Grande’s wedding gown
According to Vogue, Grande’s gown resulted from a “pact” she made years ago with wedding dress designer Vera Wang.
The publication reports that years before the singer met her now-husband, she and Wang agreed that the designer would create her wedding gown when the time came.
“At the Met gala a few years ago, Ariana and Vera had made a very important pact: On fashion’s biggest night, Vera promised that when the time came, she would create Ariana’s wedding-day look…and the iconic designer delivered,” the article reads. “The end result—a custom lily white, silk charmeuse, empire-waist column gown accented with a sculpted neckline, an exposed bra-strap closure, and a plunging back—was befitting of the pop star on her big day.”
Wang sure did keep her promise because Grande looked absolutely breathtaking on her big day!
