Ashanti Makes Stunning Post-Baby Debut at Nelly’s Wild Cowboy Costume Party
It feels like fans have been speculating about Nelly and Ashanti for years. Are they back together? Engaged? Pregnant? Married? Well, it turned out that all of the answers were “yes.” On July 18, 2024, Ashanti gave birth to their son, Kareem Kenkaide Haynes. Nelly, whose full name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., became a dad for the third time. Now, the couple is settling into baby bliss and not skipping parties along the way.
Ashanti celebrates Nelly’s 50th birthday ‘Hallowestern’ style
Ashanti has been focusing on motherhood since July. However, she’s taken some time to further her music career. On October 29, the “Foolish” singer gave an incredible National Anthem performance at Game 4 of the World Series. Two days later, she attended Nelly’s “Hallowestern” birthday celebration, which took place at Guardian Works in Atlanta.
Nelly outfitted the entire event venue into a spooky Western world. With a November 2nd birthday, it makes sense that the “Hot In Herre” rapper would celebrate on Halloween. The new parents coordinated in black cowboy and cowgirl outfits, smiling and laughing with friends and family throughout the evening.

Ashanti wore a cropped jacket, ruffled mini skirt, fishnet stockings, and leather accessories. The 44-year-old looked radiant as she embraced her post-baby curves, often placing her hand over her stomach, perhaps thinking of baby Kareem. The “Rock Wit U” singer wore crimson lipstick, dark lashes, and a thick diamond chain around her neck.
Fans find it refreshing to see Ashanti embracing her post-baby body and mind. She took to Instagram shortly after giving birth and posted a candid photo of herself wearing Frida Mom underwear.
The “Baby” singer captioned the photos, “Funny how life’s plans aren’t…always on time.. lol. I’ve been waiting to be a mom for a long time now but nothing could prepare me for EVERYTHING motherhood brings! This is what postpartum looks like. I’m loving these super cozy @fridamom shorts! I’m so proud of my body for giving me my baby, baby, baby, baby, boy.”
Ashanti and Nelly are certainly enjoying being parents. They’re surrounded by loved ones as evidenced by the Hallowestern party. Ashanti’s parents, Tina Douglas and Ken-Kaide Thomas Douglas, celebrated with the couple in full Western wear. The star-studded guest list included other celebs like Jermaine Dupri, Chingy, Monyetta Shaw, T.I., Yung Joc, Iman Shumpert, and Big Boi.
