Ashton Kutcher and Sean “Diddy” Combs were friends for years. While Kutcher has reportedly come to regret their association following allegations of abuse against Diddy, he spoke highly of the hip hop mogul when they were friends. Diddy even wanted to form a new Rat Pack with the actor. As a result, Kutcher began referring to him as Frank.

Ashton Kutcher and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs created Rat Pack personas for themselves

Kutcher and Diddy were good friends. At a dinner in 2003, Diddy told Kutcher he wanted to start a modern Pack, modeling themselves after A-listers in the 1960s, like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. Diddy claimed the role of Sinatra for himself and told Kutcher he could be Martin.

The personas stuck. In an interview, Kutcher even referred to Diddy as Frank.

“Me and Frank got onstage,” he told Rolling Stone. “I was in hype-man mode. I had already been yelling and hollering, so my voice was nice and scratchy, with a DMX vibe.”

According to Diddy, he did not claim the Sinatra role for himself. Instead, he said, rapper Chuck D began calling him “the Black Frank Sinatra.” Kutcher then followed suit.

“It was Chuck D who had called me the black Frank Sinatra,” Diddy told Rolling Stone. “I think that there are parallels: different ups and downs we’ve gone through, problems with women and, I guess, his lifestyle.”

Diddy said that before Kutcher met Demi Moore, they went clubbing as a “Rat Pack.”

“For a while, with Jamie Foxx, we were a rat pack, hanging out, going to clubs,” Combs told Time in 2010.

Ashton Kutcher reportedly has regrets about his friendship with Diddy

Kutcher’s friendship with Diddy is reportedly something he has come to greatly regret given recent allegations against the latter. A source claimed Kutcher was shocked and disgusted by footage of Diddy attacking his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.

“Ashton absolutely regrets his friendship with Diddy considering what has happened,” a source told the Daily Mail. “He feels lied to, betrayed, taken for granted, and manipulated.”

This is the second time that Kutcher’s friendships have fallen under scrutiny. Recently, he faced major backlash for defending his former co-star, Danny Masterson, following his conviction for drugging and raping two women.

“He feels the same way about Danny Masterson,” the source claimed, adding, “He now trusts no one except for his wife Mila [Kunis]. He is going to keep his circle to his family.”

The actor reportedly worries the friendship could land him in trouble

Diddy is currently in a Brooklyn jail. Kutcher is reportedly worried that Diddy’s arrest could lead to trouble for himself.

“Ashton does have fears about how this investigation will play out,” the source said. “He feels Diddy would have no problem lying to authorities and tossing out some of his famous friend’s names if it meant it could get him out of jail.”

The source claimed that everyone who was formerly close to Diddy has concerns about how his arrest might affect them.

“Diddy could say anything, do anything, or turn on anyone at this point,” continued the source. “Everyone who is close to Diddy fears the possibility of Diddy making up false allegations to clear his own name.”

The source continued that Kutcher plans to cooperate with authorities if they do begin to look closer into his friendship.

“He does not want to get involved in this, but knows that his association means he already is,” the insider said. “If he gets contacted by the authorities, he will be fully cooperative as he has nothing to hide … Ashton knows that he dug himself a hole with this one but never in a million years did he believe that Diddy was truly doing these horrible things.”
