Will Astor and Cody Be in ‘Dexter: New Blood?’ What We Know

It's been a long time since we heard from Dexter Morgan, but the upcoming revival series 'Dexter: New Blood' will offer a peek inside his life. Dexter has worked hard to create a new identity for himself, but he'll ultimately be tracked down by his son. Does that mean Astor and Cody will show too?

Dexter Morgan has been off the grid for almost ten years, but viewers will get an update on his life when the Showtime series returns with the revival Dexter: New Blood. The original show began in 2006 and followed him as he led a double life as a serial killer. The revival will show what he’s been up to since vanishing in the 2013 finale — but what about the other characters? Will Astor and Cody Bennett be in Dexter: New Blood?

What happened to Astor and Cody in ‘Dexter’

Astor (Christina Robinson) and Cody (Preston Bailey) often appeared on the show until their mother Rita Bennett (Julie Benz) was killed at the end of Dexter Season 4. After her death, the two relocated to Orlando with their grandparents, rarely seeing Dexter in the following years. They last appeared on the show in Dexter Season 7 when they took a vacation to see Dexter and his sister, Debra Morgan.

As Dexter’s life started to spiral, he faked his death by staging a boating accident and fled the state to start over. He wound up in Oregon, living out his life as a lumberjack.

Will Astor and Cody be in ‘Dexter: New Blood?’

Dexter: New Blood begins 10 years after Dexter went missing, finding him in Upstate New York under the name Jim Lindsay. Despite his best efforts to conceal his true identity, Harrison Morgan will somehow be able to track him down. There hasn’t been any official word on whether his siblings will also show up, but Screen Rant put forth a theory that Harrison might have been able to find Dexter with their help.

The official cast of Dexter: New Blood includes Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, John Lithgow as The Trinity Killer, Jennifer Carpenter as Debra Morgan, Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, Julia Jones as Dexter’s girlfriend Angela Bishop, Jamie Chung as true-crime podcast host Molly, and several others.

Clancy Brown will play the villain of the season — a man named Kurt Caldwell, per Deadline.

Caldwell was born and raised in the town of Iron Lake. In fact, some consider him the unofficial mayor of their small town. He’s realized the American dream by going from driving big rigs, just like his father did, to now owning several trucks and the local truck stop. Powerful, generous, loved by everyone – he’s a true man of the people. If he’s got your back, consider yourself blessed. But should you cross Kurt, or hurt anyone that he cares for… God help you.

Dexter hasn’t killed anyone since Oliver Saxon, but that’s set to change in the revival for reasons we’ll soon find out.
