Back in September 2024, hip-hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was arrested on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. He’s been sitting in jail awaiting trial ever since, and celebrities have done their best to disassociate from the rapper.

However, in a turn of events, rapper Jay-Z was just named alongside Diddy in a lawsuit that alleges Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl back in 2000. Jay-Z has vehemently denied the claims and referred to the lawsuit as “blackmail.” Now, the filing attorney is clapping back, claiming he never asked Jay-Z for money.

Jay-Z has been named in a lawsuit he referred to as ‘blackmail’

There have been a number of celebrities associated with Diddy through the years, and Jay-Z and his wife, singer Beyonce, are no exception. However, the Carters have kept quiet over the past year, doing their best not to associate with Diddy and his claims. Now, though, things have blown up as Jay-Z has been named in a lawsuit alleging that he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl after the MTV Video Music Awards back in 2000.

Upon being named in the suit, Jay-Z released a letter on X through his brand Roc Nation, in which he absolutely denied the allegations and noted that his lawyer had received what he referred to as a “blackmail attempt.” Jay-Z also added that he is “more than prepared” to handle the allegations.

However, the filing attorney is now clapping back at Jay-Z’s blackmail claim, saying that neither he nor his client ever asked the rapper for money. “What he [Jay-Z] fails to say in his recent statement is my firm sent his lawyer a demand letter on behalf of an alleged victim and that victim never demanded a penny from him,” Buzbee wrote on X.

Buzbee continued, “As far as the allegations in the complaint filed, we will let the filing speak for itself and will litigate the facts in court, not in the media.”

Celebrities have reportedly been trying to pay off victims

Jay-Z’s affiliation with Diddy’s alleged crimes remains completely unknown outside of the accusations. But ever since Diddy was arrested, celebs have been doing their best to distance themselves from the mogul, with many remaining silent on the situation.

During a TMZ documentary, rapper Ray J dropped even more interesting news; he claimed certain celebrities were trying to pay off Diddy’s alleged victims in order to avoid having their famous names tarnished. There is no understanding of how true it is, and Ray J did not name any specific celebrities.

For now, Diddy remains in jail awaiting trial.
