Trouble seems to follow Jenelle Evans, no matter where she lives. While Teen Mom fans were thrilled to see the troubled TV personality kick her husband, David Eason, to the curb in February, her behavior since hasn’t been stellar. In early September, her social media musings made it seem that her move to Las Vegas wasn’t turning out how she had hoped. Now, we know the reason for her sullen social media activity. Her then-boyfriend, August Keen, had called the police on her just days before she started dropping cryptic quotes about her single status.

August Keen called the police on Jenelle Evans

Jenelle Evans found love again with August Keen, but it’s not all good. The Ashley Reality Roundup Group obtained a 911 call placed from Evans’ Las Vegas rental home and it’s pretty wild. The call depicts another turbulent relationship for the TV personality. Evans’ boyfriend, August Keen, placed the call on August 31, just days before Evans commenced a pity party on social media.

In the recording, Keen asks a 911 dispatcher to send help so he can retrieve his property and go home. He informs the dispatcher that Evans had been drinking heavily and hitting him. He went on to claim she was refusing to give him his property so he could leave the house. Keen reported that he did not live with Evans, but he, for an unexplained reason, stored his gun at the property. Throughout the five-minute call, Evans can be heard in the background.

The 911 call seemingly ended Evans and Keen’s romance, but it also confirmed the relationship for the first time. For months, Evans has denied a romantic entanglement with Keen. Followers didn’t believe her. They noted that her cross-country move pretty much proved she was coupled up with her manager just six months after separating from David Eason. During the call, Keen referred to the mother of three as his “girlfriend” at least once.

The incident ended calmly. Keen opted not to press charges. Police did not take Evans into custody, no arrest was made, and no summons was issued. It is unclear where Evans and Keen stand at the moment. They are not currently following each other on Instagram, but Evans has mentioned him on social media in recent days.

Jenelle isn’t the only ‘Teen Mom’ star who has held someone’s personal belongings hostage this year

Jenelle might be new to the Teen Mom: The Next Chapter cast, but she’s fitting in seamlessly with her co-stars. At the very least, she has something in common with Amber Portwood. August’s accusation that his girlfriend was holding his property, including his wallet, hostage during an argument is eerily familiar.

In a now-deleted interview, Gary Wayt, Amber Portwood’s ex-fiance, alleged he went missing without his phone and wallet because Portwood refused to give him his property during an argument. Alcohol apparently played a role in that epic battle, as well. Wayt disappeared in June 2024 from North Carolina after an argument with Portwood. He was found safe a week later in a different state.
