‘The Bachelor’: Abigail Heringer Gets Really Honest With Matt James
Abigail Heringer made quite the splash on Matt James in The Bachelor Season 25 premiere. The contestant received the first impression rose. But, viewers haven’t seen much from the cast member since. Now, it seems Abigail will deepen her connection with James in the fifth episode on Feb. 1. So, here’s what goes down and what to expect moving forward.
Who is Abigail Heringer on ‘The Bachelor’ Season 25 with Matt James?
According to Abigail’s Bachelor profile, the 25-year-old is a client financial manager from Beaverton, Oregon. Then when Chris Harrison introduced James’ cast back in December 2020, the host promised viewers that Abigail would become a fan-favorite. He also revealed that Abigail is the franchise’s first hearing impaired contestant.
Meanwhile, Abigail won James’ first impression rose in The Bachelor premiere. The lead also gushed over his suitor in multiple interviews.
“Abigail, I don’t even know where to start. There’s not a bad thing to say about her,” James told Entertainment Tonight in January 2021. “She’s just incredible.”

Now, it seems Abigail will deepen her connection with James in The Bachelor Season 25 Episode 5. On Feb. 1, the show’s Twitter account shared a sneak peek of the couple’s next conversation.
“I haven’t felt like this for somebody in such a short amount of time,” Abigail told producers. “So, I really want to open up to him. But, it’s scary to open the door to being vulnerable and possibly rejected.”
Then Abigail opened up about the future, revealing it was likely her children would be deaf.
“I think there’s just something about you, I’m super excited. I literally get the biggest smile on my face when I’m around you,” Abigail said. “But, I’m also going to be as open with you, through this process.”
She continued, “You want a wife, and you want a family. You know I want those things too. But, if I were to have a family, there’s a really strong possibility that my kids would be deaf.”
Abigail also shared that her birth father walked out on her family.
“My birth dad did walk out on my mom and my sister right after we got our cochlear implants,” Abigail said. “When you have what should have been one of the most important people in your life walk out, it’s hard not to feel like, ‘If I fully open up myself to somebody, are they going to do the same thing?'”

Does Abigail Heringer end up with Matt James on ‘The Bachelor’ Season 25?
For now, Bachelor Nation fans will just have to wait and see how James responds to Abigail in episode 5. But, it seems likely the couple’s love story is far from over. According to franchise spoiler guru Reality Steve (Steve Carbone), Abigail will make it far on James’ season of The Bachelor.
In a post published on Jan. 21, Reality Steve revealed Abigail will make it to the top five alongside Bri Springs, Serena Pitt, Michelle Young, and Rachael Kirkconnell. That said, Abigail will be eliminated before Hometowns.
Of course, ABC has yet to confirm the spoilers about The Bachelor Season 25. So, viewers will have to watch the stories unfold onscreen. But, whatever happens, it certainly seems like Abigail will be one to watch. So stay tuned.
