‘The Bachelor’: Chris Harrison Teases Matt James’ Cast Will Include a ‘Familiar Face’
There’s no denying the men on Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams’ season of The Bachelorette raised the bar for Matt James’ cast on The Bachelor. Now, all 32 women who arrive on night one have been announced, and it certainly seems they’re up for the challenge. But even so, host Chris Harrison recently hinted Bachelor Nation fans have more contestants to look forward to, including one “familiar face” from a previous season.
Chris Harrison teases Matt James’ cast on ‘The Bachelor’ Season 25
On Dec. 11, Harrison finally introduced the women vying for James’ heart on The Bachelor Season 25. Then when speaking with E! News, the host explained why the cast will be worth watching.
“I love this group of women as much as I love this group of men from Clare and Tayshia’s seasons,” Harrison said. “You really have it all. There are some unbelievably strong women.”
He later added, “You really have this amazing group of women that are going to bring it all to the table.”
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Harrison also confirmed James’ cast will add more women to the mix — but he didn’t specify when.
“There are 32 women. A record number of women applied for Matt James. That’s how many arrive on night one. That’s not how many we’ll end up with. There will be more than those that arrive.”
Then the host teased a Bachelor Nation alum will join the cast. “I can also give you this nugget. One woman who arrives is a very, very familiar face to Bachelor Nation,” Harrison said.

Heather Martin may join Matt James’ cast on ‘The Bachelor’
On Dec. 8, Bachelor Nation spoiler blogger Reality Steve revealed Heather Martin will join James’ season. In case you need a refresher, Heather is from Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor.
At the time, Heather had never been kissed and made it to the final six. She’s also good friends with The Bachelorette Season 15 star Hannah Brown. But regardless, it doesn’t look like Heather is on James’ season for long.
“She doesn’t show up the first night,” Reality Steve wrote. “It’s somewhere after filming is already started, and she’s literally there only a few hours as Matt sends her home the same day she arrives.”
What to expect from Matt James’ season of ‘The Bachelor’
For now, fans will have to wait and see whether Heather shows up on The Bachelor Season 25. But whatever happens, James’ journey will surely be one to watch. Still speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Harrison was asked what separates James from the other leads. And ultimately, the new bachelor has “depth.”
“There is so much depth,” Harrison said. “There are so many layers to this man that you’re going to get to know, good and bad.”
Then in an interview with Us Weekly, Harrison expanded his answer, promising Bachelor Nation they’ve never seen anyone like James before.
“What you think you know about Matt James, you don’t,” Harrison said. “If you think you’re getting this frat boy who you see on Instagram, that’s not… there are depth and layers to him, the likes of which we’ve never seen on this show.”
