‘The Bachelor’: Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph Unfollow Each Other on Instagram, Fans Speculate
Former bachelor Colton Underwood and his season winner, Cassie Randolph, announced on May 29 that they’d broken up. In their separate Instagram captions, they both mentioned wanting to stay friends. As Bachelor Nation knows, the former couple has had their fair share of drama since their split, much of it taking place on Instagram. But, as of now, Underwood and Randolph are no longer following each other on the social site.
Colton Underwood was just speaking highly of Cassie Randolph in an interview
When Underwood was interviewed by Reality Steve for his podcast on Aug. 13, he had nothing but nice things to say about Randolph.
“I have nothing but good things and love and well-wishes and friendship with Cassie right now. I love the girl and miss the girl dearly,” he said.
He also addressed the bit of Instagram drama that went down between him and his ex. Underwood claimed that he was never upset at Randolph for the interview she did on The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! Instead, he says he was frustrated with the franchise for using her.
“Cass stayed extremely professional and extremely quiet about our breakup, which I was so happy and thankful for,” he said on the podcast. “I even texted her and was like, ‘Man I appreciate that, thank you.’ What bugged me was the fact that that show took advantage of her. I feel very defensive over people I love. I know Cassie’s a big girl and can fight her own battles, but I know her heart — she doesn’t want to rock the boat and she loves people even if they abuse her or even if they take advantage of her, which is what they did.”
Why ‘Bachelor’ fans think Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph unfollowed each other on Instagram
Underwood and Randolph didn’t just unfollow each other on Instagram. Randolph’s close friends and family also unfollowed the former football player. So fans are thinking something might have occurred to create bad blood between the exes.
“What makes things interesting is how they ALL unfollowed at once, lol. Something big definitely happened,” wrote one fan on Reddit.
Some Reddit users think the unfollowing took place because Randolph may have a new man in her life. “I personally think there’s a good chance that this is related to the rumors that Cassie is dating her longtime wannabe musician friend,” wrote the original poster.
Other fans, however, feel unfollowing one’s ex after a certain amount of time is standard breakup protocol.
“Isn’t this just step two of the breakup? First stage everybody is sorry and wants to be friends, but it gets taxing, especially if one person (or both) still have complicated feelings… then you reach your breaking point and you cut contract so you can fully move on,” wrote one Reddit user.
Neither Randolph nor Underwood have spoken publicly about each other since the former bachelor’s interview with Reality Steve. But fans are hoping for some juicier details when the breakup chapter of Underwood’s book comes out.
