‘Bachelor in Paradise’: Adam Gottschalk and Raven Gates Announce Their Engagement
Bachelor Nation has been rooting for Adam Gottschalk and Raven Gates because they are one of the few Bachelor couples to stay together. They initially met on Bachelor in Paradise and have expressed their love for each other several times over the past two years. Finally, in an Instagram post accompanied by pictures, the two announced their engagement! But, did Raven already know his proposal plans?
How did Adam Gottschalk and Raven Gates meet?
Gottschalk and Gates met and started dating on Bachelor in Paradise Season 4 in 2017. When their season concluded, the couple chose not to get engaged and instead continued dating long distance. They documented their visits on social media, and then Gates moved to Dallas to live with Gottschalk in 2018.
Bachelor In Paradise is a spin-off series of The Bachelor, which follows former contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette as they attempt to find love while vacationing for a few weeks. Gottschalk, a 29-year-old commercial real-estate agent from Dallas, appeared in The Bachelorette Season 13 for Rachel Lindsay. 27-year-old Gates, a business owner from Arkansas, was the runner up for Nick Viall’s 21st season of The Bachelor.
Adam Gottschalk proposes to Raven Gates
Gottschalk and Gates posted pictures of him popping the question on Instagram a couple of days after he originally proposed. In the picture perfect moment, Gottschalk is kneeling on the top of a building, surrounded by rose petals, decked out in a suit. Gates wipes the tears from her eyes as she eagerly accepts Gottschalk’s proposal. They also posted a few pictures of her showing her ring off to the camera and dancing with each other.
Raven captioned her slideshow a message to Gottschalk: “I’m keeping you forever and for always. We will be together all of our days.” Gottschalk kept his caption simple, saying, “5.31.19 #Engaged” and included a ring emoji.
Several former Bachelor and Bachelorette stars voiced their excitement for the couple, including The Bachelorette’s Season 14 Jake Hortsmann and The Bachelor’s Season 22 Krystal Nielson.
Did Raven Gates forsee the engagement?
Gates went on former The Bachelorette star, Kaitlyn Bristowe’s podcast, Off the Vine to discuss her relationship in January 2019. Bristowe asked why the couple had not gotten married yet, and Gates said she thinks it’s “coming soon.”
She explained they scheduled an upcoming family and engagement counseling appointment. Gates identifies as Christian and Gottschalk, Jewish. Therefore, they believe counseling will help when it comes to raising their children. She also said they would talk about what their future wedding would like.
Gates spoke about everything on the podcast, including hooking up with Gottschalkin the Fantasy Suite on Bachelor in Paradise and even told a pooping story. She also raved about Gottschalk and how she knows he’s the one for her because he makes her feel “safe to open up.”
