‘Bachelor in Paradise’: Why Dean & Caelynn Don’t Follow Each Other on Instagram
Dean Unglert and Caelyn Miller-Keyes definitely made a splash in Bachelor in Paradise this Summer. The pair took a liking to each other as soon as he stepped foot on the beach in Mexico. Though the pair dated exclusively for a few episodes, eventually Unglert made the decision to leave Bachelor in Paradise on Miller-Keyes’ birthday. He confessed that though he cared about Miller-Keyes’, he wasn’t looking to extend their relationship beyond the beach.
Miller-Keyes was devastated when Unglert chose to leave, but quickly developed a new connection with Connor Saeli. The former beauty queen was shocked when Unglert returned to Bachelor in Paradise to ask her to leave the beach with him. Miller-Keyes agreed and the pair have been together ever since. Now, Unglert has opened up about their unique relationship in an interview with Us Weekly.

Unglert shared that the couple been exclusive since leaving Bachelor in Paradise. Furthermore, the California native got candid about why he made the decision to turn his van around and pursue her after leaving the show. “I think that there was a very clear implication that we would be an exclusive couple together and I’m happy for that. I didn’t want to leave in a relationship with anyone, but then when I left the first time I realized that as great as life could be alone, I wanted to experience it with her. And I made that clear to get and obviously she was on board with it,” he confessed.
Building a solid relationship
It seems the exclusivity is going well for the couple. Unglert admitted that he could truly be himself around Miller-Keyes. “She’s very intelligent and compassionate. I am able to be myself around her and she’s able to be herself and that’s how we create synergy and build around each other. For the first time in my Bachelor franchise relationship history, I feel like I’m able to say what I want, do what I want and allow my partner to build with me while I’m doing that,” he shared.
Though the couple is doing well, that doesn’t stop Bachelor in Paradise fans from speculating about their relationship. Many fans were concerned with the fact that they weren’t posting enough of each other on their respective Instagram pages. Others noted that the couple don’t even follow each other on Instagram even after going public. However, Unglert shared that there’s actually a reason why they’ve made that choice.
Life beyond Bachelor in Paradise
“I don’t like doing what’s expected of me and I feel that with couples, especially those coming out of this franchise, we’re expected to follow each other on Instagram, do interviews together to have this happy couple image. I want to break out of that mold and be the couple that never does interviews together, doesn’t follow each other on Instagram,” Unglert confessed.
Unglert admits that sometimes Miller-Keyes is less than amused by his antics, but is ultimately supportive. “She kind of hates it sometimes, but it’s kind of funny. She’s on board with it. It’s a silly thing to be doing, but it’s also fun,” he shared. We’re happy that the couple is doing what works best for them even if it is a bit unorthodox. After all, there’s plenty of other BIP couples who are presenting fans with the perfect cookie-cutter couple images that they crave.
