‘Bachelor in Paradise’: Dean Unglert and Caelynn Miller-Keyes Reveal When They Plan To Get Married
Caelynn Miller-Keyes and Dean Unglert first began dating on Season 6 of Bachelor in Paradise in 2019. The two have been together ever since and recently moved into a house together.
On Jan. 8, Miller-Keyes posted a new vlog on her YouTube channel which featured a Q&A with Unglert. In the YouTube video, Miller-Keyes and Unglert discussed when they plan to get married.
What Dean Unglert thinks is his greatest success with Caelynn Miller-Keyes
At the start of 2020, Unglert and Miller-Keyes began fostering a dog named Pappy. The two ended up adopting the senior dog in March 2020. In the Q&A on Miller-Keye’s YouTube channel, Unglert said he thinks Pappy is the greatest success of their relationship.
“The greatest success when bettering our relationship has been… Pappy,” Unglert said. “Pappy was a great success and he bettered our relationship.”
Miller-Keyes agreed, saying, “He did, he definitely did. He brought us closer, we each get to see each other’s parenting styles.”
Unglert also explained why he has been able to be more open with Miller-Keyes compared to past relationships.
“I was at a point in my life where I was ready to be like just more honest with everything, my life, and who I was, and confront those demons within myself,” Unglert said. “I kept like just being honest and open… and the whole time every time I was doing those things… Caelynn always stuck around… the constant reinforcement that I could keep being myself was a very nice thing.”
When Dean Unglert and Caelynn Miller-Keyes plan to get married
Engagements are particularly common for couples who meet on The Bachelor franchise. While Miller-Keyes and Unglert are not married, they do wear rings to symbolize their commitment to each other. Still, fans constantly ask when Unglert and Miller-Keyes plan to get married.
For the Q&A, Miller-Keyes and Unglert were asked if they ever planned to get married. Unglert said if they ended up having kids they would get married.
He also said he plans to change his last name from Unglert to Bell, which was his late mother’s maiden name. In the Q&A, Unglert said that Miller-Keyes is also open to changing her last name to Bell.
“We’ll get married at some point,” Miller-Keyes assured fans.
“But when would you want to get married?” Unglert asked. “Let’s have that conversation real quick.”
“Maybe like two years,” Miller-Keyes said. “2023.”
“Nice, 2023. All right, December 2023, sure… we’ll have the conversation,” Unglert said.
Why the two wear commitment rings
On June 22, 2020, Miller-Keyes and Unglert appeared on The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever. Chris Harrison interviewed the couple, and Unglert went into more detail about what his commitment ring means to him and Miller-Keyes.
“In my opinion, I don’t need the title of ‘husband’ to show the world I’m committed to one person,” Unglert said. “So the fact that I’m wearing the ring is showing just that. I’m committed to Caelynn and only Caelynn. And that’s why I’ve worn it.”
He continued, “It’s not a traditional marriage or engagement ring. But it’s our little way of telling the world — or the people we’re around — that we’re committed to each other.”
