‘Bachelor in Paradise’: Why Hannah Godwin Called Dylan Barbour a ‘Stay at Home Dad in Training’
One of the surprising Bachelor in Paradise success stories lies in the ongoing strength of Hannah Godwin and Dylan Barbour’s relationship. The couple chose to stay together after a tumultuous season on Bachelor in Paradise. Over two years later, the couple is still happily together and preparing for marriage. After moving in together, the pair have gotten to know each other better, leading Godwin to call Barbour a future “stay at home dad.”
Hannah Godwin and Dylan Barbour met on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’
In 2019, Godwin and Barbour met on Bachelor in Paradise Season 6. Godwin competed on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, where she made it to the final three. Barbour competed on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette, and Brown sent him home in the season’s sixth week.
Following their respective heartbreaks, Barbour and Godwin formed a connection on Bachelor in Paradise. Despite a rocky start — Godwin was also interested in Blake Horstmann — the pair ended the season engaged.
The ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ couple has a house together
In 2020, the couple moved in together to quarantine during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Though they were engaged for over a year at that point, Godwin said the time in the same home taught them a lot about each other.
“Honestly, Dyl is like a stay at home dad in training,” Godwin told People. “I feel like I think that might be his ultimate goal, possibly. He loves doing laundry, loves bringing me coffee. I think that side of him really surprised me.”
According to Godwin, this time together is what made her sure she wanted to live with Barbour.
“Quarantine gave us the chance to get a glimpse of what being roommates was like,” she said to Elite Daily. “So, we were like, you know what? Let’s do it. It’s time. We’re ready for that next step.”
She added that his “dad” qualities make him a great roommate.
“Dyl loves to take the initiative if there’s dishes or if there’s trash,” she said. “I don’t really feel like I have to say, ‘Hey, go take out the trash, it smells.’ He just kind of does it without thinking. He takes the initiative on literally anything, like cooking and cleaning, so it’s been good.”
Hannah Godwin and Dylan Barbour are still planning their wedding
After facing delays because of the coronavirus, Godwin and Barbour are jumping back into planning their wedding.
“We were actually kind of chatting about looking at 2023,” Godwin told Hollywood Life. “Part of us feels like that’s so far away, but it’s going to be 2022 before you know it.”
According to Barbour, the couple is potentially looking at a European wedding depending, of course, on the state of the pandemic. The couple says they already feel married, however, so they don’t feel any pressure to rush into the wedding.
