Kendall Long didn’t come back to ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ to get back together with Joe Amabile
In the Bachelor in Paradise finale preview, Joe seemingly holds an engagement ring, possibly indicating he will propose to Serena. But when Kendall returns, the ABC reality series makes it appear like she could get back together with Joe.
That said, it seems unlikely Kendall wants to break up Serena and Joe’s relationship in the finale. When speaking on the Talking It Out podcast on Sept. 13, Kendall claimed she didn’t come back on Bachelor in Paradise to get back together with Joe.
“When I went on, I wasn’t interested in getting back in a relationship with Joe because if I wanted to, I would’ve done that the year and a half that we were broken up,” Kendall said, adding that her goal was to get “closure” with her ex.
On the Off the Vine podcast, Joe seemingly echoed Kendall’s comments. He noted that they already tried to make things work long before Bachelor in Paradise Season 7, but it “just wasn’t there.” Then Joe noted that he still had respect for Kendall now.
Serena Pitt on how Kendall Long’s return on ‘BIP’ impacted her relationship with Joe Amabile
Now, it seems Serena, Kendall, and Joe all had respect for one another during Bachelor in Paradise Season 7. In the above interview with Talking It Out, Kendall shared how she felt about Serena, despite the “awkward situation” on the show.
“Serena’s great,” Kendall said. “She was so sweet, so kind, and so respectful as well.”
Then in the Sept. 30 episode of Talking It Out, Serena shared the same sentiment, revealing that she was “friendly” with Kendall on the beach. She also shared how she really felt about Kendall coming back to BIP and how it impacted her relationship. Serena noted that she asked Joe what would happen if Kendall returned, and he completely reassured her.
“It definitely helped because I had that reassurance going into that situation,” Serena said. “He was committed to me, and for him, he wouldn’t be there if that relationship wasn’t done.”
Serena also claimed that Kendall’s arrival “strengthened” her relationship with Joe on Bachelor in Paradise. She then hinted that Joe doesn’t change his mind. Serena said:
“I said to him, ‘If anything changes, if you are conflicted, if your heart is pulling you toward Kendall, that’s OK. But you need to be honest with me about it because I’m not gonna sit here and compete with your ex-girlfriend if you’re being pulled in a different direction.’ And I, to this day, believe that he would have done that if he felt that way.”
