‘The Bachelor’: How Madison Prewett Found Out About Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan Will Make You Second Guess Everything
The Bachelor Season 24 may have ended in March, but the drama between Peter Weber, Madison Prewett, and Kelley Flanagan continues. In her first interview since the live finale, Prewett opened up about her experience on the show and her thoughts on her ex-boyfriend today. For the most part, the Auburn alum wished the former bachelor nothing but the best. However, when asked about Weber’s decision to quarantine with Flanagan, Prewett revealed the situation was more complicated than we previously thought.
What happened to Madison Prewett, Peter Weber, and Kelley Flanagan after ‘The Bachelor’ finale?
In The Bachelor finale on March 9, Prewett broke up with Weber and self-eliminated. Then after the 28-year-old ended his engagement with Hannah Ann Sluss, the production team reunited Prewett and Weber. During After the Finale Rose — which was taped live on March 10 — the couple professed their love for one another. However, they never officially got back together and chose to take things one step at a time.
Two days after The Bachelor finale, Prewett and Weber went their separate ways after realizing they couldn’t make the relationship work. “Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further,” Weber wrote on Instagram. “Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us.”
Two weeks later on March 25, Weber was spotted hanging out with Flanagan in Chicago. Then on April 2, The Bachelorette’s Dustin Kendrick told Us Weekly he has been in quarantine with Weber and Flanagan for about two weeks due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Meanwhile, fans began speculating Weber and Flanagan were dating. That said, Pilot Pete turned down the rumors.
“Are we dating? No,” Weber told Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti on the Almost Famous podcast. “I am the first person to admit that I have been through so much. The emotional rollercoaster of all rollercoasters. And the last thing I need to do is to jump into another relationship. I just was engaged a couple of weeks ago and figuring out another relationship.”

On April 21, Prewett went on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Off the Vine podcast and shared her thoughts on Weber and Flanagan’s current relationship. But it seems the 24-year-old has complicated feelings about the whole situation because she developed a close friendship with Flanagan.
Prewett claimed she was best friends with Flanagan while filming The Bachelor and they remained in contact after the show. “We were really really close and talked 24/7,” Prewett said. “So I guess I was definitely hurt and thrown off by that whole situation.”
Prewett also revealed Weber wanted to get back together a few days before he was with Flanagan.
“To be honest, what was really confusing for me is that two days before he was spotted in Chicago, he was calling me and texting me being like, ‘I miss you. Let’s get back together,’” Prewett said. “But when you break up … and you just come off a show that was emotionally and physically exhausting, everybody handles that differently and everybody leans on different things.”
She continued: “I find it really important after a breakup to take time to really invest in myself and make sure my heart’s in the best place possible before I pursue any type of relationship … I don’t date to date, I date to marry. So they deserve my 100% heart.”
Prewett then pointed out both ways of dealing with the situation are valid. But the news of Flanagan and Weber still caught her off guard, especially since they didn’t give her a heads up. When Bristowe asked whether Flanagan and Weber called when the news broke, Prewett said:
Not until it got leaked and he got caught with it. Again, he had texted me two days before. He texted me after it had been out for a couple of days and sent me this long text to kind of explain himself, but not really. And just sharing the current situation or whatever.
I was very kind back. I was like, ‘Look, this doesn’t affect anything for me. We went our separate ways. It’s not like I lost something here. What I’m confused about, Peter, is two days ago, you were telling me how much you loved me and wanted to get back together. And now you’re with the one person that was my best friend. It just feels a little hurtful.
Prewett also added the photos were leaked on her birthday and at the time, she felt like Weber and Flanagan were taking a “jab” at her. But regardless, it appears Prewett is moving on from the situation, once again adding she wishes both parties the best.
“I saw something special in Kelley. That’s why she was my best friend,” she said. “I saw something special in Peter. That’s why I loved him and wanted to fight so hard to make the relationship work. So they’re obviously incredible and special people. I wish nothing but the best for the both of them, no matter what that looks like.”
