‘The Bachelor’: Matt James Shuts Down a Theory About ‘Queen’ Victoria Larson
The Bachelor Season 25 viewers knew they were in for a treat when “Queen” Victoria Larson introduced herself to Matt James. The contestant was carried in on her throne, tiara and all. Then as the night progressed, Victoria continued to receive the villain edit. That said, James still gave the contestant a rose, making fans think the contestant was a producer pick. But recently, James defended Victoria on The Bachelor — here’s what he said.
Who is ‘Queen’ Victoria Larson from ‘The Bachelor’ 2021 with Matt James?
“Queen” Victoria was the last arrival on night one of The Bachelor Season 25. As mentioned, the cast member met James with a royal entrance. The 27-year-old was carried to the front of the Nemacolin Resort by a group of men. Then she proclaimed herself and James the queen and king. But of what? The world may never know.
“I’m Victoria, like the queen,” Victoria said. “I’m looking for a king with a good heart. So I heart that’s you, King Matt.”
Then in a confessional, the contestant said, “Queen Victoria is here. I know I’m so confident, and I’m so fun. And I know made a good impression. So I just want to put my best foot forward.”
Victoria also fell on her way up the stairs. “It’s all good,” Victoria said. “He’s so sexy, and my nerves caught up to me. It’s a lot to handle. But, you know, I am the queen of this kingdom.”
The rest of The Bachelor premiere suggested the cast member would take on the villain role. She interrupted another suitor and received more time with James. Meanwhile, some women did little to no time with the lead. The producers also chose to show that Victoria showed no remorse.
“I don’t feel bad going to see Matt twice because they’re idiots anyway,” Victoria said in a confessional. “That’s not my fault.
As The Bachelor Season 25 premiere came to a close, James chose who he wanted to keep around. Then he gave his final rose of the night to Victoria.
‘The Bachelor’ fans think Matt James picked Victoria Larson because of producers
After The Bachelor Season 25 premiere aired on ABC, some fans thought James only picked Victoria because of producers.
“You know producers kept her there for a reason,” a fan on Reddit wrote about Victoria.
“The fact that it’s producers makes it even more annoying,” another fan wrote. “I dread to think how long they’ll make Matt keep her.”
That said, James addressed the theory about Victoria on Jimmy Kimmel Live! following The Bachelor premiere. On the late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel directly asked the lead whether he kept Victoria because producers wanted “a couple of bad ones in the mix.” However, James claimed he “really enjoyed” the queen.
“No, that wasn’t the case,” James said. “She was great. I really enjoyed Victoria.”
James also revealed he appreciated Victoria’s persona on night one of The Bachelor.
“To be honest with you, I appreciated everything about Victoria’s entrance and who she was,” James said. “Whatever you need to do to stand out, she did it. And I remembered her name.”
He continued, “It was lighthearted, and it made me… it broke the ice. It’s such a tense situation, and I was nervous. When she came out with everything that she is, it just put a smile on my face.”
For now, Bachelor Nation fans will just have to wait and see how far Victoria gets on James’ season. But when Kimmel asked whether James will end up marrying the contestant, the 29-year-old just looked down and laughed.
