Bachelor Nation Still Thinks Mike Johnson Would Have Been a Better Bachelor
As soon as Mike Johnson was eliminated from Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette, the show’s fans started petitioning for him to become the bachelor. When the franchise went with Peter Weber instead, many people were disappointed.

Back in September, Johnson did an interview with Bachelor Happy Hour With Rachel & Ali. He confirmed that, yes, he did want to be the bachelor and, yes, he had been in consideration for the lead role.
“Yes, I wanted to be the bachelor. Yes, I auditioned to be the bachelor. I went in there with the right intentions of wanting to find love, wanting to be true to myself. You might have seen do-rag king come back. I had a list, a word document, of the type of women I wanted, what I was scared of, what I wasn’t scared of,” he shared.
Johnson said, at first, he was disappointed to learn he wasn’t going to be the bachelor. But as we saw time and time again on Brown’s season, Johnson is a positive guy.
“When I first found out, I’m not gonna lie — I was sad. I was annoyed when I very first found out,” he said. “But then, I think by the end of the night, I wasn’t annoyed no more because I was appreciative and thankful that they told me ‘No’ right then and there, because now I can focus on myself. I’m just blessed because I know I’mma find my wife and find my queen.”
In the end, Johnson thinks the network “chose the right person for what they want,” and says “there’s nothing wrong with that at all.”

Johnson might believe that but there’s a good portion of Bachelor Nation that’s not so sure. Now that we’re a few episodes into Weber’s season, some of the show’s fans are sticking with the bachelor they wanted: Mike Johnson.
“I can’t believe some of y’all genuinely wanted Peter as #TheBachelor over MIKE JOHNSON,” tweeted one fan after the most recent episode.
“you see, mike johnson wouldn’t have bought the girls to f*ckin ohio,” wrote another.
Weber’s been caught in the middle of some drama the last few episodes, particularly because he decided to bring back Alayah Benavidez after eliminating her. Fans think Johnson would have handled things better.
“Mike Johnson would not have tolerated this drama,” wrote one fan.
“Peter is over here worried that the girls are going to walk out on him because of his immature and horrible judgement… you know who wouldn’t have girls threatening to walk out on him? Mike Johnson. Yes, I’m still very salty that Mike wasn’t #TheBachelor,” tweeted another.
It’s probably a safe bet that there isn’t much Weber can do to win over the Mike Johnson stans. Here’s hoping he’s considered next year (if he’s still single).
