‘The Bachelor’: Is Nikki Ferrell Married, Dating, or Single Now? Here’s a Much-Needed Update After Juan Pablo Galavis’ Season
Juan Pablo Galavis may have picked Nikki Ferrell on The Bachelor Season 18, but viewers had a few concerns following the finale in 2014. The couple wrapped their season without an engagement or even a declaration of love. Then a few months later, they called it quits. But is Ferrell married now, six years after meeting Galavis on The Bachelor? Here’s an update on the reality star.

A traditional Bachelor season typically ends with an engagement. But Galavis’ season was unlike any other. In the finale, the professional soccer player dumped Clare Crawley and gave his final rose to Ferrell. However, he did not propose, despite having the ring onhand.
“I’m not 100% sure that I want to propose to you,” Galavis told Ferrell. “But at the same time, I’m 100% sure that I just don’t want to lose you. I like you a lot — a lot.”
Meanwhile, Galavis refused to tell Ferrell he loved her. Nevertheless, the couple decided to stay together after The Bachelor, and they later appeared on the VH1 reality series, Couples Therapy. But despite their efforts, Galavis and Ferrell ended their relationship.
Why did Nikki Ferrell and Juan Pablo Galavis break up?
In October 2014, Bachelor Nation fans speculated Galavis was single after Ferrell posted a cryptic message on her Instagram account.
“Isn’t it pathetic how we waste so much time on certain people and in the end they prove that they weren’t even worth a second of it,” the quote said, per Time.
Then in an interview with host Chris Harrison on The Bachelor Season 19 premiere, Ferrell opened up about the breakup. And while the former reality star revealed Galavis eventually told her he loved her, it was too little too late.
“There was a while where I did feel like he was totally in love with me. Was it too late? Probably,” Ferrell said, per E! News. “I think at that point I had come to the conclusion that we were different people and we were never going to be on the same page.”
She later added, “I tried everything. He tried, too. It wasn’t just a one-side thing….we real-life tried, not TV-tried.”

Now, it’s been a few years since The Bachelor Season 18 aired on ABC, and both Ferrell and Galavis have since moved on. Galavis married and divorced Venezuelan TV host Osmariel Villalobos. Meanwhile, Ferrell fell in love with her longtime friend, Tyler VanLoo. The couple got engaged in January 2016.
“And on the last day of vacation this happened,” Ferrell wrote on Instagram after the proposal. “I can’t wait to marry my best friend. Over the moon happy right now!”
Then in October 2016, Ferrell and VanLoo got married in Kansas City. “We gon git mawwied y’all,” Ferrell wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the couple’s marriage license.
Two years after tying the knot, divorce rumors swirled around Ferrell and VanLoo. An unnamed source told Us Weekly the pair was “done” and “on the rocks.” But recent posts on Instagram indicate Ferrell is still with her husband. She even celebrated his birthday in May.
“Happy Birthday to my best friend, my number one travel buddy, the best pet Dad, my own personal photographer,” she wrote on the social media platform. “Life sure is fun with you in it.”
