‘The Bachelor’: Peter Weber Says He’s at ‘Peace’ With Hannah Brown, But ‘Emotions Resurfaced’ When She Returned
Peter Weber‘s season of The Bachelor is about to take flight. However, his journey with his former flame, The Bachelorette’s Hannah Brown, isn’t over just yet. Prior to the premiere, ABC revealed Brown will return to the franchise and Weber seems to ask his ex to stay on the show. And while fans will have to wait and see what happens next, Weber recently opened up about his relationship with Brown and hinted that “emotions resurfaced” when she made her appearance on limo night.
Peter Weber is hopeful about ‘The Bachelor’ because of ‘The Bachelorette’
Following their breakup on The Bachelorette, Weber admitted he would always love Brown.
“I don’t think you can completely fall out of love with someone,” Weber said, per People. “It’s been two months. I’ve been moving on and doing my best with that and I know time will heal all wounds. A little piece of my heart will always love her.”
But now, that’s exactly why Weber believes The Bachelor franchise will work for him. In an interview with People released on Dec. 30, Weber explained why he is hopeful for his journey on the ABC reality series.
“I always say that I’m a hopeless romantic,” Weber said. “And coming on The Bachelor, I’m not a hopeless romantic. I’m just a romantic. I’ve never lost hope that the next person I’m going to find is going to be my forever. So I don’t say hopeless anymore because I have all the hope in the world.”
He continued: “When the talks started about the possibility of being the bachelor, a lot of excitement was there and I was stoked for the opportunity. I had to process a lot of emotions and moving on from The Bachelorette and that relationship. For me, I saw it work so well on The Bachelorette. I lived it and I knew that it could work. So I was hopeful that it could work again.”
People Weber opens up about his breakup with Hannah Brown
Meanwhile, Weber delved a little deeper into his split with Brown on The Bachelorette. But for the most part, it seems Weber has nothing but respect for Brown and her decision to break things off.
“I think everyone saw was caught off-guard, definitely blindsided. I was really invested in that relationship with Hannah and definitely saw it going further than it ended up going,” he told People. “But at the end of the day, she made her decision. She followed her heart and I had to come to peace with that and be OK with that.”
Weber then noted that his time with Brown was a growing experience. “I’m just a believer that everything does happen for a reason,” he said. “I definitely learned a lot about myself. I grew a lot and I definitely became stronger. So I don’t regret that at all and I’m grateful for that relationship and for what it did for me in my life at that point.”
And ultimately, Weber learned what he wants in a relationship. “I never want to be with someone who doesn’t want to be with me,” Weber said. “I want someone just as badly as I want them. And at that moment, in that relationship, it was obvious I was more invested than she was.”
Peter Weber gets real about Hannah Brown’s appearance on ‘The Bachelor’
Given Brown’s strong influence on Weber’s life, it’s not a surprise The Bachelorette alum’s return in The Bachelor premiere affects the 28-year-old in a big way. Still speaking with People, Weber confirmed that “all those emotions were real and they resurfaced.”
“Even though it didn’t work out with us on The Bachelorette, obviously that relationship still meant a lot to us,” Weber said. “You are going to see just how much it meant to us when you watch the episode.”
He continued: “All of the emotions resurfaced. They’re just real emotions that come out between two people that at one point cared about each other a lot.”
Does Hannah Brown join Peter Weber’s season of ‘The Bachelor’?
For now, fans will have to hold on until Jan. 6 to see if Brown joins Weber’s season of The Bachelor. However, logic tells us that her casting seems unlikely. Remember Weber’s season was filmed from September to November.
Meanwhile, Brown was on Dancing With the Stars Season 28 during the same timeframe. And when asked about her arrival on The Bachelor, Brown always seems to bring up her busy schedule.
“My heart has been completely focused on my Dancing With the Stars experience, and I had to give a lot of myself [to the competition,” Brown told Variety in late November. “Doing Dancing With the Stars is a full commitment, so that has been the relationship that I’ve been in — with the dance studio and just working my butt off. But, as far as anything else, I can’t really say much more.”
Then in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Dec. 6, Brown echoed her previous statement. “I feel like if we put two and two together, like, I worked my *ss off to win that mirrorball… I was in the studio eight hours a day,” she said. “You should do the math and watch in January.”
