‘The Bachelor’: Peter Weber Says Kelley Flanagan Was ‘Too Smart Almost for the Show’
Peter Weber sent Kelley Flanagan home just before hometowns on his season of The Bachelor. The pilot ended his season engaged to Hannah Ann Sluss, only to break up with her shortly after because he still had feelings for Madison Prewett. Weber and Prewett didn’t work out, either, and now the former bachelor’s self-isolating with Flanagan.
How Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan reconnected after ‘The Bachelor’
In a recent episode of The Viall Files, Weber says he reconnected with Flanagan because they just kept running into each other.
“My relationship with Kelley has just been a lot of things that have kind of been serendipitous. You go all the way back to the very beginning, her and I running into each other before any of this started, her getting a sign of running into me. That was crazy. What I don’t know if a lot of people know is, obviously the show happened, it didn’t work out for us on the show. After the show, this was over the Super Bowl, I was in Miami, I had the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl there with my brother and I ran into her on Saturday night before the Super Bowl,” said Weber, adding that this was right after he’d broken up with Hannah Ann Sluss.
The pilot says he didn’t get Flanagan’s number after the Super Bowl run-in. But then he saw her again when he was out with friends. He says he texted Kristian Haggert (Demi Burnett’s ex) to meet him out. When she showed up, Flanagan was with her.
“So they show up at this place that we’re at. I see Kelley again, jaw drops. This is insane. What are the odds of this? So we obviously chat, see some other people, go out, have a fun time just hanging out. That’s when I got her number and we started to communicate and just stay in touch,” he said.
After they’d been talking for a bit, Weber says he flew out to Chicago to help Flanagan “take her mind off” some “family” stuff she had going on. Shortly after, “everything started to hit with the quarantine stuff.” Weber says when those pictures came out of him and Flanagan walking out in Chicago, he’d already been there “for quite a while.”
Though Weber says they’re not dating, he can definitely see a future with Flanagan.
“It kind of became a thing where we’ve always gotten along really well and just had really good chemistry and we just enjoy each other’s company,” he said.
Peter Weber says Kelley Flanagan wasn’t a good fit for ‘The Bachelor’
Weber says he and Flanagan were never going to work on the show. He says it wasn’t a good environment for her, partially because she’s “too smart.”
“One thing that I think is important to just get out there, and Kelley will be the first one to admit this, Kelley was not good for the show. Was not comfortable ever, never felt in her element. Was almost like too smart almost for the show. Was just always trying to be two steps ahead almost, always trying to overthink it a little bit. She’ll be the first to admit it. And I agree,” he said.
We’ll have to wait and see if Weber and Flanagan have a future together. Weber seems hopeful and, at the very least, he clearly thinks very highly of her.
