The Bachelorette Katie Thurston Says Her Cast Is ‘Fair Game’ on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 7
On June 7, ABC dropped The Bachelorette Season 17 premiere, and many fans are already sifting through Katie Thurston’s cast to figure out who should be on Bachelor in Paradise Season 7. It also seems the new lead is just as excited to watch her contestants on the summer spinoff. Katie recently revealed her exes aren’t off-limits to her friends on BIP — here’s what the reality star said.
Who is Katie Thurston from ‘The Bachelorette’ 2021?
Katie was on Matt James’ season of The Bachelor before she became The Bachelorette Season 17 lead. The 30-year-old bank marketing manager became a fan favorite because of her sex-positive attitude. She also stood up to bullies on her season.
Meanwhile, Katie shared how she initially joined the franchise when speaking with bachelorettes Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast.
“I just applied,” Katie said in January 2021. “When I was cast, I was pretty shocked. I was kind of in denial, even getting ready for it. I was just my 100% self, and I guess they found that pretty refreshing.”

Now, Katie has started a journey of her own on The Bachelorette Season 17. Then when speaking with Access ahead of her premiere, the new lead was asked about her thoughts on David Spade hosting Bachelor in Paradise Season 7, alongside Lil Jon, Tituss Burgess, and Lance Bass. Katie said the new guest host will be “refreshing.” But ultimately, it seems the current bachelorette is more interested in her cast this summer.
“I’m more focused on my exes showing up to Paradise because I know some of them are,” Katie said. “And I have friends over in Paradise. So it’s just going to be a very interesting season for me to watch in general.”
She continued, “Normally, I watch it as a fan. Now, knowing I have friends there, ex-boyfriends there, I’m absolutely tuning in.”
Katie also revealed her former cast members from The Bachelorette Season 17 are “fair game” to her friends on BIP.
“They’re my exes for a reason,” Katie said. “You can have ‘em!”

Reality Steve claims this contestant from Katie Thurston’s season will join the ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 7 cast
The Bachelorette Season 17 has just begun, but Bachelor in Paradise Season 7 is also around the corner. The new cycle will start on Monday, Aug. 16, 2021.
Meanwhile, Bachelor Nation spoiler guru Reality Steve recently shared which cast members are rumored to be on BIP this year. On June 8, the blogger shared multiple contestants from Matt and Peter Weber’s seasons of The Bachelor as well as fan-favorites from Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams’ season of The Bachelorette who might appear on the beach. Then Reality Steve claimed Connor Brennan, also known as Connor the Cat from The Bachelorette Season 17 premiere, will also join the Bachelor in Paradise Season 7 cast.
“Connor Brennan (@connorfalcon) is going to be on Paradise and is down there now,” Reality Steve wrote. “Yes, there will definitely be others from Katie’s season who will be on Paradise. Some I’m sure are already there right now and in original cast. I just haven’t confirmed anyone yet outside of Connor.”
For now, Bachelor Nation fans will just have to watch everything unfold on The Bachelorette Season 17 and Bachelor in Paradise Season 7. But whatever happens next, it certainly seems like everyone is in for a dramatic ride. Stay tuned.
